On top of producing the most ubiquitous computer processor in history, an estimated 70% of the world’s population today uses Arm, whether in smartphones, PCs, EVs, or smart devices like TVs and thermostats. But because the U.K.-based Arm licenses its design architecture to global colossuses like Apple, Samsung, and Qualcomm, few ordinary consumers appreciate just how embedded the $166 billion firm is in their daily lives—a role that’s growing exponentially as smart functionality meshes with ever more devices. Under CEO Rene Haas, Arm’s value has risen 2.5 times since its September 2023 IPO, and its influence shows no sign of slowing.
