_Constantine Komodromos is the founder of VesselBot, which provides technology that allows companies to visualize their own carbon emissions across their entire supply chain, from production and transportation, and calculate ways to optimize reduction. Their platform has processed billions of data points daily from over 10 million shipments in the past 10 months alone, creating one of the world's most comprehensive real-time views of global multimodal transportation emissions. Clients have used VesselBot insights to dramatically reduce CO2 emissions, and the company says some efforts resulted in savings over $1 million a year through consolidating shipments._

**What is the single most important action you think the public, or a specific company or government, needs to take in the next year to advance the climate agenda?**

Companies must embed sustainability into core business strategy, not treat it as compliance. When environmental responsibility integrates holistically with operational planning, something transformative emerges: carbon footprint reduction becomes inseparable from cost optimization, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage. This isn't about trade-offs; what benefits the planet simultaneously strengthens the bottom line. The companies that will lead the next decade are those that understand this integration creates a multiplier effect: reduced emissions, lower operational costs, enhanced resilience, and preserved resources for future generations. This is the pathway from compliance theater to genuine transformation, and it must become the standard, not the exception.

**What’s one sustainability effort you personally will try to adopt in the next year?**

In the coming year, my family and I plan to shift our home toward renewable energy. We will begin by installing solar panels and using smarter energy tools. This is a meaningful step for us, not only because it helps reduce our environmental footprint, but because we want the systems we rely on every day to reflect the kind of future we believe in. We believe in a future that is cleaner, more resilient, and more responsible. For us, sustainability is not just a concept. It is a way to live our values and contribute to a better world for our children.

**What is a climate solution that isn't getting the attention or funding it deserves?**

One climate solution I believe is still overlooked and underfunded is the development and adoption of alternative fuels, especially Renewable Natural Gas. RNG is produced from organic waste and agricultural byproducts like manure, which means its impact is twofold. It not only replaces fossil fuels with a cleaner alternative but also helps manage waste that would otherwise contribute to methane emissions. This makes it one of the few solutions that actively reduce emissions at both the source and the point of use. Despite its potential, RNG is often sidelined in policy and funding discussions. I believe it deserves a stronger role in our climate strategy, particularly in sectors where electrification is not yet practical. Supporting RNG is not just about energy, it is about circularity, resilience, and making smarter use of the resources we already have.

**What gives you hope about the future of the planet?**

Despite regulatory headwinds—from EU's Omnibus dilution to U.S. EPA's proposed rescission of the 2009 Endangerment Finding—corporate climate ambition is accelerating independently. From Q4 2023 to Q2 2025, companies setting verified emissions targets increased 97%; net-zero commitments surged 227%. Over 8,700 companies now have SBTi-validated targets representing 41% of global market capitalization. Most remarkable: U.S. companies increased net-zero commitments 9% even as federal support waned, representing $12 trillion in revenues. Businesses are discovering sustainability drives competitive advantage regardless of policy. When emissions reduction improves operational performance, momentum becomes self-sustaining. This market-driven transformation may prove more durable than any mandate.

**If you could stand up and talk to world leaders at the next COP, what would you say?**

A business, like the human body, is a living system where every element interconnects. Sustainability shouldn't stand apart from strategy; it must flow through it. This principle applies equally to nations. Stop positioning climate action as sacrifice. Reframe it as the pathway to operational excellence and economic resilience. Countries embedding sustainability into core strategies will outperform those treating it as compliance. The climate crisis demands systemic thinking. Environmental responsibility and economic prosperity aren't opposing forces but complementary outcomes of intelligent system design. The future belongs to those understanding that protecting the planet and building thriving economies are one endeavor.
