Built atop open-source Microsoft code, [Anysphere](https://time.com/collections/time100-companies-2025/7289581/anysphere/ "undefined")’s AI-first coding platform allows users to write and edit code with conversational prompts. Using a mix of in-house AI models and ones from OpenAI, Anthropic, and more, Cursor can automate swathes of software development work. Developers have rapidly adopted the tool: according to Anysphere, over 50,000 enterprises—including over half of the Fortune 500—use it, generating over 100 million lines of code a day.
