After experiencing a cancer scare, former Novartis executive Maya R. Said saw firsthand how nebulous the care-finding process can be—even for insiders. In 2017, she co-founded Outcomes4Me, a free, AI-based app that translates medical records and genomic data into plain-language care paths, clinical trial matches, and symptom tracking. It makes guidelines “accessible to any person that’s not a scientist,” says Said, so they “can really understand these treatments and advocate for themselves. “More than 400,000 patients now use the platform, which was ranked the highest-quality cancer app in the peer-reviewed journal _Current Oncology_. This year, the company acquired Germany's Mika Health app to expand into Europe.
