Three business leaders from PepsiCo, Stitch Fix, and Thrive Global joined moderator Sara Eisen, CNBC anchor of _Squawk on the Street_, onstage at the 2026 TIME100 Summit in a panel to discuss how businesses are transforming in the age of AI, and how humans can prepare for the future of work.

Athina Kanioura, Chief Executive Officer, Latin America and Global Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer of PepsiCo, a sponsor of the Summit, kicked off the conversation by describing PepsiCo’s approach to transformation: Faster innovation powered by technology means changes to different aspects of the consumer experience, like personalizing product stories to help it fit into specific consumer lifestyles. Or, updating its portfolio in order to adapt to modern trends like nutrition and hydration. For example, PepsiCo’s acquisition of [popular healthy soda brand Poppi](https://time.com/collections/time100-companies-2025/7289593/poppi/) and its introduction of [“naked” versions of its snacks](https://www.pepsico.com/newsroom/stories/2025/cheetos-and-doritos-are-getting-naked), stripped of artificial dyes and other chemicals, are a part of its transformation process for the future, and adapting to what the new generation of consumers want.

Lastly, she said, AI and other technology can unlock huge productivity gains for menial tasks like managing logistics and operations. “How we manage the factories much more efficiently, how we manage the warehouses, all the logistics—this is a big cost for manufacturing,” Kanioura said. And AI can be used to manage downtime, service levels, and fleets.

_Join us on_ [_TIME's YouTube_](https://www.youtube.com/time) _for the 2026 TIME100 Gala Red Carpet Livestream, starting at 6:00 p.m. EST on April 23, 2026—and available after on demand_

Matt Baer, CEO of Stitch Fix, believes that the “healthy state of a corporation is in a state of transformation.” The best businesses know their clients deeply and personally, can predict what they want in the future, and look ahead to where the market is going, he said.

He described how Stitch Fix is using AI to improve the overall client journey. As a company, its goal is towards ultrapersonalized experiences where “no two people will have the same interaction with Stitch Fix,” Baer said. “But at the same time, we work very hard to protect the human connection between the stylist and client, and we believe that human connection is actually at the core what is our competitive differentiator in retail … Our stylists are often the first person that finds out if a client is engaged, or if the client is expecting, or they've had a promotion and they need to refresh their wardrobe. Stylists get invited to their client’s wedding, and AI is not getting a wedding invitation.”

For Arianna Huffington, founder of Thrive Global, a behavior change technology company helping individuals reduce stress and prevent burnout, her view of AI is that it’s merely accelerating a shift already underway in the pharma industry, “moving from having a transactional relationship with a consumer … to be a partner on your health journey.” What Thrive Global as an AI behavior change company offers, she said, is a way to further improve pharma’s relationship with the consumer, therefore improving adherence to drugs or other health care regimens. “The advantage of AI is that you can use the AI power of hyper-personalization to target nudges and recommendations depending on what your preferences are, how you sleep, what you're dealing with,” she added.

Huffington acknowledges that a lot of people are very anxious about AI. “If we're going to win this AI race, we need to invest in humans. We can't just invest in machines,” she said. “Invest in humans in every way—in their health, in their resilience,” and if AI ends up helping people work less and have more time, “we also need to help people learn what to do with this new time … that is productive but also fun.”

In terms of advice for new grads entering the job market in this age of AI, Baer said what he looks for in potential hires has stayed the same: “Intellectual curiosity, an entrepreneurial spirit, strong communication skills, and passion for the work that you do.” These are traits that make candidates successful at any stage of their career, at any job, and that doesn’t change no matter where technology is at, he said.

As for future leaders, Kanioura said that the one trait that will be most crucial to have in this fast-changing world is agility: the ability to “capture the trends, capture the signals, and adapt very quickly.”

## Transcript

[00:00] Thank you. Okay, so we were all just backstage and we all
[00:02] learned how many hours we all sleep.
[00:05] It's all not enough.
[00:07] According to Ariana, we all have our tips.
[00:09] Um, so it's, it's great to be here
[00:11] at the time 100 summit and
[00:13] great to be talking to three leaders
[00:15] about transformation,
[00:17] but only one of you guys actually
[00:19] has transformation in your title.
[00:20] I believe you are the Chief Transformation Officer
[00:23] as well as the CEO of Latin America.
[00:25] So I'll start with you, Athena.
[00:26] And just, you know,
[00:27] PepsiCo is a is a,
[00:29] it's a brand and a company that
[00:31] goes back more than 60 years.
[00:33] So how do you approach
[00:35] a transformation like we're in right now
[00:37] around AI with kind of
[00:39] boring consumer products and a brand
[00:41] that's been around so long? No offense.
[00:43] No offense. Uh.
[00:45] Well, well, I think AI,
[00:46] I don't think like cans of Coke or Pepsi.
[00:49] I can change your mind.
[00:51] Okay, good. Tell me.
[00:52] Right. So firstly,
[00:54] transformation for PepsiCo is a cultural transformation.
[00:57] To your point, we are a company that
[00:58] has been around for decades.
[01:00] So we have a certain way
[01:03] of cultural engagement with the consumer.
[01:05] A lot of around the heritage of the brand,
[01:08] you grow up with the brand,
[01:10] but now we know consumers are fast changing.
[01:12] So taking that historical cultural transformation
[01:15] and emotional attachment and take that to the next area,
[01:19] which is AI led with
[01:21] omnichannel consumer experiences or
[01:24] faster innovation on how we change our products.
[01:27] I mean, you interviewed Ramon
[01:28] a couple of weeks ago in the earnings,
[01:30] our portfolio transformation powered by the technology,
[01:33] faster cycles of innovation and
[01:36] R&D is now paying dividends.
[01:38] If you were to say of how we are
[01:40] growing the US and the rest of the world.
[01:42] So technology is for
[01:44] us an enabler of transformation on three things.
[01:47] One is the consumer engagement model.
[01:49] You have to be always and everywhere where consumers want
[01:52] to engage with you in platforms of choice.
[01:55] The portfolio transformation we have,
[01:58] allowing for permissibility and
[02:00] functionality and nutrition, hydration.
[02:05] So trends that historically you wouldn't
[02:07] associate PepsiCo with across the globe.
[02:09] And I would say the third big transformation
[02:12] is how we transform the operations of the company.
[02:14] We are still a company which operates in 200 markets,
[02:17] a massive fleet, massive facilities, factories.
[02:21] So how are we creating
[02:23] operations that are leveraging robotics,
[02:27] industrial AI, where we are giving
[02:29] the power to our associates
[02:31] to drive decisions much faster?
[02:32] That's the third angle of transformation.
[02:34] I do want to get into AI more,
[02:35] and we should talk about it during this panel.
[02:37] But Matt, I also want to get to
[02:38] you on transformation because
[02:40] you came into Stitch Fix a few years ago.
[02:42] Yes. 2023, the company was struggling
[02:45] and you've really turned things around.
[02:48] So how do you approach that,
[02:49] especially at a time where, you know,
[02:51] the way we shop and everything going on with
[02:54] AI is also changing the experience?
[02:57] Yeah. For me, I think that
[02:59] the healthy state of a corporation is in a state of
[03:02] transformation and that if you're
[03:04] not perpetually trying to reinvent yourself,
[03:06] trying to continue to strengthen your business,
[03:09] then you're going to fall behind.
[03:10] I see companies all the time.
[03:12] They think they've completed
[03:13] a transformation or reinvention.
[03:14] They plant the flag,
[03:15] they put it into cruise control,
[03:17] and they're really just heading to being obsolete.
[03:20] And when what we're doing at Stitch Fix
[03:23] is making sure that we're
[03:24] constantly challenging ourselves,
[03:26] constantly trying to reinvent ourselves,
[03:28] and we're doing that in a few different ways.
[03:30] The first is how do we lean
[03:32] in to what are our unique characteristics?
[03:34] What are the things that differentiate us,
[03:36] and how can we deepen that competitive mode
[03:38] and invest in those areas?
[03:40] The second is how do we know our clients so deeply and so
[03:44] personally that we can understand
[03:45] not necessarily just what they want today,
[03:47] but what they will want in the future.
[03:49] And then finally, our responsibility is to look forward,
[03:53] not to look left or right,
[03:54] not to look at what the competition is doing,
[03:57] but for us to look ahead in terms of where the market is
[03:59] going so that we can be there before anyone else.
[04:03] And when you do this and you do it in any industry,
[04:06] but in apparel retail,
[04:07] that enables us to take that leadership,
[04:09] that competitive advantage and ensure
[04:11] that we're creating a superior experience,
[04:13] and then we have to continue to challenge ourselves
[04:16] and reinvent in perpetuity going forward.
[04:18] And the company is growing again.
[04:19] The company is growing.
[04:20] There's green shoots. Arianna, I mean,
[04:22] you have you've reinvented yourself through business.
[04:25] I've thrived. It's hard to believe
[04:26] it's ten years old. Right? This year.
[04:28] Ten years old.
[04:29] Yes, ten years old. So how
[04:30] do you think about the changes?
[04:31] I know you've also recently launched an AI product.
[04:34] How do you how do you how do you keep
[04:36] yourself on your toes transforming,
[04:38] but also growing businesses?
[04:40] Well, what is interesting,
[04:41] thrive was built on the power of
[04:44] five daily behaviors to
[04:47] affect our health and productivity,
[04:49] making the connection between
[04:51] well-being and health and And productivity,
[04:54] not seeing them as separate,
[04:56] but seeing them as a productivity multiplier.
[04:59] So the five behaviors being food,
[05:03] sleep, movement, we don't even call it
[05:06] exercise because millions of
[05:08] people in this country don't move.
[05:10] If you hear exercise,
[05:11] you think going, I don't believe it.
[05:14] You think going to the gym for an hour.
[05:16] He doesn't sleep either.
[05:17] But no, but he's a short sleeper.
[05:20] Come on. Don't, don't don't shame him.
[05:22] It's a genetic thing, apparently. Right.
[05:24] You're a genetic.
[05:25] He's a he has a genetic mutation,
[05:28] which is actually a good thing.
[05:30] 1.5% of the population
[05:32] in the world have a genetic mutation.
[05:35] And you have it.
[05:36] We're going to check it. We're going.
[05:37] To. I knew I would regret sharing that backstage anyway.
[05:42] Stress management and connection.
[05:44] These are the five behaviors.
[05:45] We've never been a consumer product.
[05:48] We only work with B2B.
[05:50] We work with big companies like Salesforce,
[05:52] like Walmart, etc..
[05:55] But what what?
[05:57] When we are talking about transformation,
[05:59] it's really seeing where the world is going,
[06:02] seeing how the zeitgeist is changing.
[06:04] And two and a half years ago we
[06:06] started working with pharma,
[06:07] going directly to their consumers.
[06:10] Now that was a huge shift.
[06:12] You know, pharma is transforming itself with Eli Lilly,
[06:17] which is now the biggest pharma company in the world,
[06:20] $1 trillion leading the way across consumer engagement,
[06:26] moving from having
[06:27] a transactional relationship with a consumer.
[06:30] I sell you your drug, my drug,
[06:32] and you're on your own to
[06:34] being a partner on your health journey.
[06:37] So if you go to Lilly Direct now,
[06:39] you buy your Lilly drug,
[06:41] not just mounjaro or zepbound any drug,
[06:45] and then you get
[06:46] thrive coaching on these five behaviors for free.
[06:50] Now what's in it for them?
[06:52] What's in it for them is that
[06:53] they improve health outcomes,
[06:55] they improve their relationship with their consumer,
[06:59] and they also improve adherence
[07:01] because adherence is a huge problem for pharma.
[07:04] It's about 50% of people who drop out.
[07:08] So I feel this is part of
[07:10] the transformation and then bringing AI.
[07:12] We launched an AI behavior change company
[07:16] that Lilly is an investor in.
[07:19] And the advantage of AI is that
[07:21] you can use the AI power of
[07:23] hyper personalization to
[07:26] target nudges and recommendations.
[07:29] Depending on what your preferences are,
[07:32] how you sleep, what you are dealing with.
[07:35] So for me, it really what you said,
[07:38] which is that it's constantly evolving.
[07:41] You can never go into a maintenance mode.
[07:45] You know, that is impossible anymore because we are
[07:48] living in such Transformational time.
[07:51] Well, it is amazing, though,
[07:52] that ten years ago you figured out, you know,
[07:54] we weren't really talking about how much we
[07:57] were all sleeping and what we were consuming our food,
[07:59] as you know, as much as we are right now.
[08:01] So you definitely saw it.
[08:02] The hyper personalization that you sort of reacted to,
[08:05] that's obviously key to your business.
[08:07] How is AI changing what you do?
[08:10] Yeah. So when we think about how we're using AI,
[08:13] we're thinking about it both in terms of how
[08:15] we can implement the technology to
[08:16] improve the employee experience as well as
[08:19] the client experience from
[08:21] an employee experience perspective.
[08:23] We're looking to augment and
[08:24] amplify the work of each employee.
[08:27] We want to make sure those things that are
[08:29] unique to humans, to individuals,
[08:31] whether that's insight or judgment or curation,
[08:36] sense of style and discovery,
[08:38] are things that we are empowering
[08:40] them to do with more of their time,
[08:42] and equipping them with the tools to
[08:43] do it even more productively.
[08:45] We've had a lot of success with that
[08:47] and continue to be more productive.
[08:49] And our focus there is increasing output.
[08:52] We're using AI in order to supercharge our growth,
[08:56] not to cut our expenses in half.
[08:58] When it comes to the client experience,
[09:01] we're using AI to ensure that we're creating
[09:04] an unparalleled experience whereby
[09:06] we're improving that client journey.
[09:08] For us, that means how do we
[09:10] create this future whereby you can see
[09:13] yourself through that entire client experience
[09:15] of shopping for apparel and accessories.
[09:18] But at the same time,
[09:19] we work very hard to protect
[09:22] the human connection between the stylist and the client.
[09:26] And we believe that that humanity,
[09:28] that human connection is actually at the core.
[09:30] What is our competitive differentiator in retail?
[09:34] It's very hard to have
[09:35] personal service in today's day and age,
[09:38] and we provide that.
[09:39] Our clients and stylists
[09:41] create deep and enduring relationships with.
[09:43] People stylists, not AI.
[09:45] Human stylists. Our stylists are often
[09:47] the first person that finds out if a client is engaged,
[09:51] or if a client is expecting,
[09:53] or they've got a promotion
[09:54] and they need to refresh their wardrobe.
[09:56] You don't think AI can do that?
[09:58] We have stylists that get invited to
[10:00] their client's wedding, and they probably.
[10:02] AI is not getting a wedding invitation.
[10:04] Yeah. Not yet.
[10:05] The robots are coming.
[10:07] What about what have you found, Athena,
[10:09] in the experimentation of of AI and whether
[10:12] it's a tool for productivity or as
[10:14] Matt says, growth. Both. Both.
[10:15] Yeah. I mean, we are very clear.
[10:18] It has to drive both top line performance
[10:20] and bottom line performance
[10:21] and top line performance
[10:24] is definitely in the areas of consumer engagement,
[10:26] commercial execution, driving,
[10:29] much more personalized placement
[10:31] of the product on the shelf,
[10:33] and also with direct to consumer models
[10:35] and very soon agentic commerce as well.
[10:39] And in the areas of productivity,
[10:41] it is driving operational excellence,
[10:43] how we manage the factories much more efficiently,
[10:46] how we manage the warehouses, all the logistics.
[10:48] I mean, this is a big cost for a manufacturing company.
[10:53] Half of the personnel is trapped there,
[10:57] and especially in the middle part of the PNL.
[10:59] So if you were to drive with the AI,
[11:02] much more productivity and
[11:03] efficiency and effectiveness of
[11:05] your employees and manage
[11:07] downtime, better service levels,
[11:09] better routing of the fleet,
[11:11] massive unlock of productivity and,
[11:15] and on top of that,
[11:16] there is obviously the element of employee experience
[11:19] and employees that we
[11:21] see because we have a huge front line,
[11:23] as you know very well from PepsiCo,
[11:25] are extremely happy that many of
[11:27] the tasks are now managed by the agents.
[11:30] They're not threatened by it.
[11:32] They not threatened at all.
[11:33] I mean, if you are an HR business partner,
[11:36] why would you want to write a paper about
[11:39] your kids school absence, etc., etc.?
[11:43] The AI can do that.
[11:44] I mean, they can connect to the school directly.
[11:46] They can give you the forms.
[11:48] You can automate a lot of
[11:49] the mandate tasks that people don't want to do.
[11:52] So massive productivity and efficiency for the company.
[11:55] Arianna, I think it's important because, you know,
[11:57] there's a lot of negativity around
[11:58] AI and the general public.
[12:00] But, you know,
[12:01] whenever I talk to business leaders like this,
[12:04] they talk about the promise and
[12:05] the opportunity and the enhancements
[12:06] and the empowering that it does of people.
[12:09] Well, you're absolutely right.
[12:11] There's both, you know,
[12:12] you have an incredible optimism about all the ways,
[12:16] as Athena said, it can augment productivity.
[12:21] But also we need to realize
[12:23] that the majority of people right now,
[12:25] according to every poll,
[12:27] are very anxious around AI.
[12:31] And that means that we just need to bring them along.
[12:35] It doesn't mean that you're going to stop AI,
[12:37] but you cannot ignore the human factor you talked about.
[12:41] Humanity is going to become more and more important.
[12:44] So one of the things we work with,
[12:45] all the companies we work with
[12:47] is improving the resilience of employees.
[12:51] You know, people think of
[12:52] AI training as just being about,
[12:55] we are going to rain all these AI tools on you and you're
[12:59] going to become digitally fluent on AI.
[13:03] But if you are scared about your job,
[13:07] if you're anxious about your children's jobs,
[13:10] it's very hard to learn and it's
[13:12] very hard to adapt to the changes.
[13:15] So for example, I know Athena,
[13:17] you have a digital academy that
[13:19] digital academy needs to also teach resilience.
[13:23] The other problem with resilience,
[13:25] it's not equally distributed.
[13:27] People on this panel probably tend to be more resilient.
[13:33] We faced a lot of challenges.
[13:35] Athena and I are Greek immigrant women.
[13:37] How many panels have you been to with
[13:40] two Greek Immigrant women,
[13:45] both born in Athens, both with accents.
[13:49] You know, I used to think I was always underrepresented.
[13:52] Now I feel I'm overrepresented.
[13:55] So my point is that we had to deal with a lot.
[13:59] Not everybody had.
[14:01] So we need to take that into
[14:03] account and bring humanity along,
[14:05] whether it's our employees
[14:07] or anywhere in the world. And it can do.
[14:10] I mean, we're in May.
[14:11] We're actually doing a big event
[14:14] at Walmart with Donna Morris,
[14:16] who is the CEO of Walmart, and Daniel Danker,
[14:21] whom they brought in to run everything around
[14:24] AI to bring these two functions
[14:26] together to excite people,
[14:28] but also acknowledge their concerns.
[14:31] How is it going to change?
[14:32] Matt, do you think the consumer experience.
[14:35] I mean, you talked a little bit about
[14:36] what you're doing on that front,
[14:37] but just in general,
[14:38] like, what is shopping going to look like in ten years.
[14:43] Well, first I'll build on what you just shared.
[14:45] I do think consumers have some anxiety
[14:48] around AI in the customer experience.
[14:51] It's both some concerns around privacy and how
[14:55] you're using their information in
[14:56] order to build those experiences.
[14:58] And then also just like,
[15:00] is this something that's truly
[15:01] valuable or beneficial for me?
[15:03] We do a lot of client testing,
[15:05] a lot of surveys.
[15:06] And what we find is that when you appropriately share how
[15:09] the information will be used and what
[15:11] the benefit to them from a client perspective is,
[15:14] they embrace it and they get really excited about it.
[15:17] So that's a real focus for us is how do
[15:19] we bring our clients along on the journey?
[15:22] And then for us,
[15:23] where we see the vision going is
[15:26] a truly ultra personalized experience
[15:28] whereby we move beyond what
[15:31] is accepted as personalization today.
[15:34] That is really just segmented experiences
[15:37] to truly 1 to 1 individual experiences.
[15:40] No two people will have
[15:41] the same interaction with Stitch Fix.
[15:43] They will see themselves
[15:45] through that entire client journey,
[15:47] through that entire client experience,
[15:49] unique to them, and see
[15:51] their likeness throughout the process.
[15:53] How do you think about the future of
[15:54] Agentic commerce since you mentioned it as well?
[15:57] I would say massive opportunity
[15:59] for actually the consumer to take control.
[16:03] It's a consumers right now are
[16:07] hostages of the retail ecosystem
[16:10] and the consumer goods ecosystem,
[16:12] because pretty much you offer them
[16:15] what you believe they want on the shelf,
[16:18] maybe on digital commerce.
[16:19] Now imagine a future where you actually type,
[16:22] I want this experience for this need.
[16:25] And assuming you control your data,
[16:29] then you can actually get
[16:30] a very tailored experience and value proposition for you.
[16:33] So for me, first of all,
[16:35] it's about consumer empowerment.
[16:37] It will also truly challenge.
[16:40] What is the role of
[16:41] the retail and consumer ecosystem in the future,
[16:44] where you need this kind of ecosystem to blend
[16:47] very differently compared to what it is right now?
[16:50] I mean, you can imagine
[16:51] a very different Walmart in the future,
[16:53] a very different PepsiCo in the future,
[16:54] because it's not going to be enough for
[16:56] me to offer a product.
[16:58] I need to offer an experience around hydration.
[17:01] I need to offer what is that experience around nutrition?
[17:04] So besides me offering a Z zero,
[17:07] I need to offer the science around
[17:10] the why this is important for you,
[17:13] why it helps your sleeping patterns,
[17:15] why it helps you as an athlete or a junior athlete,
[17:20] how it helps you in your coaching.
[17:23] So this is the future of
[17:25] Agentic and the promise for consumers.
[17:27] I believe it's going to revolutionize
[17:29] the way consumers engage with AI,
[17:31] the same way they use AI now for their
[17:34] much more their day to day life and their shirts.
[17:37] This is how they're going to buy.
[17:38] So the companies that invest
[17:40] in that upfront are the companies that will win.
[17:42] It should make us all healthier, right? I mean.
[17:44] Yes. Well, also, I mean,
[17:46] you see like Pepsi spent $2 billion to buy Poppy,
[17:51] which was a healthy probiotic based soda brand.
[17:57] That to me is looking at the future.
[17:59] And that also is looking at augmenting your market
[18:04] and maybe your more traditional consumers
[18:08] want the same products they're getting,
[18:10] but you don't want to just think of this market.
[18:14] You need to think of who are
[18:15] the other consumers you can bring in.
[18:17] How can you expand your footprint?
[18:20] And the same way you've launched Naked the Naked series,
[18:25] you know, with fewer dyes and artificial ingredients.
[18:30] This is a process. It's happening.
[18:32] So part of transformation is
[18:34] embracing it in a way that makes sense for the business.
[18:38] And we see that.
[18:40] We see that across demographics,
[18:44] and it's an impact that has to be taken into account.
[18:49] But also if we if we become more
[18:50] productive, maybe we have to,
[18:52] we won't have to work as much and we can
[18:54] all sleep more and enjoy life more.
[18:55] Well, that's actually is that a fantasy?
[18:57] No, this is actually a very good point, which is that.
[19:00] Elon Musk said like,
[19:01] no work in the future.
[19:03] No, we talk about giving people back time,
[19:06] giving people back time,
[19:08] helping people work less, doing more.
[19:11] But we also need to help people
[19:14] learn what to do with this new time.
[19:17] For me, that's like a huge crisis ahead of us because
[19:21] if you gave the majority of
[19:22] people now more time, you know what they would do?
[19:25] They would go on TikTok,
[19:27] they would go on Instagram, they would.
[19:30] Not part of your health plan, I guess.
[19:32] You know, it's not exactly a healthy way to live.
[19:34] So I'm a big believer
[19:38] that if we are going to win this AI race,
[19:42] we need to invest in humans.
[19:44] We can't just invest in machines right now.
[19:48] The machines are getting better and better,
[19:50] and the humans are getting more and
[19:51] more anxious and worried.
[19:53] So if we can invest in humans and invest them,
[19:58] invest in them in every way,
[20:00] in their health, in their resilience,
[20:03] in what they can do with their time
[20:06] that is productive, but also fun.
[20:09] You know, that really the challenge ahead of us.
[20:13] Matt. So, so what does that mean to you?
[20:15] What if I mean, a young man or woman
[20:17] wants to come in out of college,
[20:19] work at Stitch Fix?
[20:20] Like what skills do you need for, you know,
[20:23] the person, the employee of
[20:25] the future to do all that
[20:27] so that you can invest in humans?
[20:29] Well, I think just one quick thing.
[20:31] The first and most important skill is being
[20:34] a lifelong learner because we don't know what the.
[20:40] I knew that AI told me that's what matters.
[20:44] Not to say that is really the key.
[20:47] And also building your own inner strength and
[20:51] wisdom so that you can deal
[20:53] with whatever challenges come your way.
[20:57] Matt, what are you going to say?
[20:58] Well, I.
[20:59] I took the words right out of your mouth.
[21:01] Yeah.
[21:01] No, I had a chance recently to go back
[21:03] to my alma mater and speak.
[21:05] And that was obviously on the top,
[21:07] top of mind for a lot of the students.
[21:09] And what are the characteristics that you're looking
[21:11] for when hiring in this age of AI?
[21:14] And the answer to me was simple.
[21:15] It's the same five things I've always looked for.
[21:17] The first, I call it intellectual curiosity,
[21:20] an entrepreneurial spirit, strong communication skills.
[21:24] Probably my favorite is grit
[21:26] and then passion for the work that you do.
[21:28] And that doesn't change given
[21:30] whatever technology or innovation is at any given time.
[21:33] Those are the traits that are
[21:34] going to make someone successful
[21:36] whenever they enter into their enter the job market.
[21:40] The other thing that I'll say is
[21:43] the well-being of employees is so important.
[21:46] I couldn't agree more.
[21:47] Um, the manner that we're focused on it is how do we
[21:52] ensure that our employees
[21:54] have passion for the work that they do?
[21:56] How do our employees connect to
[21:58] the mission of the company?
[22:00] How do our employees make sure that they're
[22:02] finding joy within their work?
[22:04] And when you do that, you're going to have
[22:06] a highly engaged and highly satisfied workforce.
[22:09] And there's nothing wrong with focusing on wellness.
[22:12] That's the smart thing to do.
[22:14] And it ultimately can lead to
[22:15] even greater productivity within the workforce.
[22:18] And I'll do the final one to you, Athena,
[22:20] which is what, what should
[22:21] the what should the future leader,
[22:22] what skills should a future leader have to lead
[22:25] an organization like this
[22:27] into such a transformative period?
[22:29] Agility. Its leaders need to understand
[22:33] that the days that they were running
[22:34] the company in a very linear way,
[22:37] same way for years and years are long gone.
[22:41] The world is changing so
[22:43] fast that the leader needs to be agile,
[22:44] fast pacing, capture the trends, capture the signals,
[22:48] and adapt very quickly,
[22:49] and adapt his leadership very quickly
[22:51] to be able then to capture the demand and
[22:53] translate that demand to
[22:55] a reality to drive their businesses.
[22:57] And eight hours a night of sleep.
[22:59] Unless you have a genetic defect.
[23:02] Not no, it's not, I'm sorry.
[23:04] It's not a genetic defect.
[23:06] Oh, sorry.
[23:06] Mutation.
[23:07] It's a genetic mutation.
[23:09] And not everybody needs eight hours, actually.
[23:12] But leaders, you were saying it's good.
[23:13] I know, for example,
[23:14] Athena needs seven, I need eight.
[23:18] I don't know what you need, but we're going to work.
[23:20] I need cortisol shots. You told me.
[23:24] I think we've learned a lot.
[23:26] So thank you very much, all of you,
[23:28] for the candid conversation. Thank you.
