I met Chase Sui Wonders on the set of our show [_The Studio_](https://time.com/7264756/the-studio-review-seth-rogen-apple/)_,_ knowing very little about her except that she blew people away in her audition, could keep up with the funny, and had a very famous aunt (all you ’90s queens know the fashion designer Anna Sui). By the end of Season 1, her character Quinn had emerged as the backbone of our show: fierce, competent, the voice of reason, and deliriously funny—my love and admiration for her is still growing and growing. My 16-year-old and all her friends were “obsessed,” which makes me so happy that they have this wickedly smart, savvy, and loyal person to look up to.

We shot in Venice this year, and one story encompasses what I adore about her. She wandered the city by herself on a day off, met a gentleman who owned a printing shop, spent hours with him and his son, and bought bespoke ­stationery with her initials. She couldn’t wait to take me, and then to make sure everyone in the cast could go experience the magical afternoon she had had, getting lost for an afternoon in Venice. Chase is a magic person and I’m so excited to see what she does with her powers.
