In September, the Italian construction firm completed [Africa's largest hydropower dam](https://www.webuildgroup.com/en/media/press-releases/grand-ethopian-renaissance-dam-gerd-inaugurated/ "undefined"), a $5 billion project 14 years in the making that is designed to double Ethiopia's energy production and supply surplus power across East Africa.Webuild has also helped advance modern construction with new tunneling [methods](https://www.webuildgroup.com/en/sustainability/commitment/innovative-and-smart-builders/ "undefined") that cut through waterlogged ground, machines that dig tunnels using less energy, and automated factories that mass-produce the large concrete rings lining underground railways and water systems.
