Courtesy Dell Technologies Companies once turned to Dell for off-the-shelf servers, PCs, and data center hardware. Now they're asking it to help build what Dell calls "AI factories"—integrated systems that combine accelerated computing with networking, storage, and software to run AI at scale. "We've gone from an infrastructure provider to a trusted advisor for the most important workload we've seen in recent history," says Arthur Lewis, president of Dell's Infrastructure Solutions Group. Dell is now one of the world’s leading suppliers of AI servers and related infrastructure. In partnership with Nvidia, Dell has deployed its AI factory systems to more than 4,000 customers, including Lowe's, McLaren, and [CoreWeave](https://time.com/collections/time100-companies-2024/6979628/coreweave/). The company reported [this February](https://investors.delltechnologies.com/news-releases/news-release-details/dell-technologies-delivers-fourth-quarter-and-full-year-fiscal-3) that AI server sales have more than doubled since early 2025—from approximately $10 billion to $25 billion, with $50 billion projected this year. The company has spent the past three years reorganizing itself around AI, anticipating a fundamental shift in how businesses operate. "Eighteen months ago we said, 'Holy sh-t, we need to move even faster,'" Lewis says. "The advancements were undeniable."
