Radius Recycling began as a scrap metals business in 1906 and today, it uses recycled metals to manufacture some of the lowest-carbon-emission steel in the world.

## Transcript

Today metals are essential to manufacturing to construction to communication networks to energy to transportation and to consumer electronics to just name a few and more importantly metals and indeed recycled metals are poised to play a very important role in the transition to a green economy. Low-carbon Technologies think of wind solar electric vehicles. They are very metal intensive and they require more steel or more copper or more aluminum Technologies if they replace it and today and in the future most manufacturers in any industry want to increase the amount of recycled products in their posts.

So recycled metals are becoming an increasingly critical component of the supply ship metal can be infinitely recycled. So our role is to maximize the amount of metals that are recycled rather than produced using version materials and we use a combination of hydroelectricity as our power source recycled metal concerts. The primary material that is utilized to make the finished product and a small amount of carbon offsets and renewable energy credits to get us to NetZero. More than two-thirds of the steel made in the US every year is made from recycled metal. So the metal in your washing machine if it was made in the US Metal in your car is still for example for the aluminum in all likelihood recycled material.

And utilize one ton of recycled metal versus the corresponding virgin material you will achieve significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. What are you're talking about steel copper or aluminum? A challenges tend to be around official Logistics that works around consistent regulatory Frameworks that can be very difficult from state-to-state of different regulatory Frameworks, and I'm from state to Federal and then just consumer and customer awareness. Those are the things that we need to work on in order to make recycled materials a larger and larger part of what goes into our production processes and can our project development.

I see a future where widespread adoption of a circular economy model advances Metals recovery reuse and recycling to achieve Industrial decarbonization.
