Artist Statement
Title: Our Silent Face [1984]
Year: 1984
The image was created using a hand made training set and Open AI diffusion and VQGAN/ Clip algorithm notebook. The music references a beautiful (and turbulent) year in the world in an idealized and kind of “what it felt like”. It was a formative year that yielded some of my favorite art, music and films. This is kind of like remembering a past like a polaroid, a blurry version of a complex sense memory.
BT invited REO to TIMEPieces. Their work is inspired by the year 1984.
