The runaway success of the Nintendo Switch proved there’s a huge market for hybrid gaming consoles that owners can use at home or on the go—but the Switch doesn’t get all the latest and greatest games. Enter the Steam Deck, Valve Corporation’s Switch-style system, built to play most of the 50,000 games available on the company’s Steam platform. “Whatever you’re in the mood for, Steam Deck can do all those things,” says Valve product designer Greg Coomer. —Peter Allen Clark
