Dyke mentioned their goal is to design an ecosystem that's sustainable for the long term, with 25% of the area already designated as green space. Here the integration of transportation becomes crucial: residents can easily walk, or opt to take state-of-the-art metro lines that will connect New Murabba to the rest of Riyadh, and its international airport just 20 minutes away. The architectural design of New Murabba has been carefully considered from day one. "We're defining and designing a new architectural 'code' which builds upon the heritage of Riyadh today, but actually gives it a modern twist. We have a strong nod to the past, but a very clear eye to the future," describes Dyke. This new approach is on display in The Mukaab, a massive 400-meter cultural hub serving as the centerpiece of New Murabba. It combines innovative architecture with bleeding-edge technological experiences, from experimental AI retail to live performances and professional sports in a new arena. Dyke compared The Mukaab to twenty connected Empire State Buildings, where, inside "we will have the world's largest immersive background…\[with\] unique experiences interacting with holograms," Dyke described.
