From Southeast Asia to Europe and, of course, the United States, Japanese companies have succeeded in global markets through their ability to adapt to local strengths and demands.

Amid growing global uncertainty, Japan’s emphasis on long-term relationships and political stability has made many of its firms trusted partners. Several industry leaders share their insights on the strengths that continue to give Japanese companies an edge overseas.

**Kanto Kasei, a pioneer of plastic plating methods:** “The strength of Japanese companies lies in their unwavering effort and high level of ingenuity. These have been the driving forces behind the success of many on the global stage. We are highly regarded in terms of QCD (quality, cost and delivery),” said President Takeshi Miyazaki.

**Meisei Industrial, a leader in thermal insulation technology:** “Unlike the United States, which can access natural gas and oil relatively easily through domestic resources, Japan has more limited energy options. That is why we must develop new technologies in areas such as hydrogen and ammonia to secure our own stable energy future,” said President Tetsuji Yanase.

**Ryuki Engineering, a longstanding presence on tunnel construction sites:** “Due to our geology, much of the bedrock is either extremely hard or soft, and various technologies have been developed to address these conditions. The quality of tunnels in this region consistently ranks among the highest in the world,” said President and CEO Satoshi Nishimura.

**Nissin Kogyo, a specialist in precision plastic molding:** “In contrast to the top-down management style often seen overseas, our ability to generate ideas from the shop floor has helped strengthen our reputation in the industry,” said President Akinori Osada.
