With the material growing in demand across the manufacturing sector, Hoei has introduced its AL Serve System to optimize the handling of molten metal and minimize waste. The firm’s plans also include converting scrap material into pure aluminum, as well as recovering important elements such as zinc from furnace dust, and reducing energy use by improving thermal efficiency. “We are investing heavily in R&D with the aim of shifting from a conventional, product-based business to one that also provides practical solutions to help improve productivity,” said President Yasuyuki Kodama. This innovative mindset has helped Hoei lead the way in sustainability for years. Initiatives such as delivering pre-smelted aluminum to clients can significantly reduce the carbon cost of the process. “I can proudly say we were contributing to sustainability efforts long before the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) became widely recognized,” added Kodama. To further increase efficiency and counter Japan’s shrinking workforce issues, the firm is embracing automation and digital transformation (DX) steps, such as AI and data analytics, to remain competitive. Hoei Metal also has several international interests, including an existing base in Thailand, but the president insisted his company will always work steadily overseas. “True globalization and peaceful coexistence can only be achieved by respecting and embracing a region’s pride and culture,” said Kodama. “Whenever we enter a new market or set up a local subsidiary, it is important to ensure the well-being of local people and employees,” he added.
