# Algocyte Introduces AI-Powered Blood Testing Analyser at Historic Venue in London

Medical imaging and blood testing are the pillars of modern medical diagnosis. Up to 70% of diagnoses are given through or informed by blood testing. The bloodstream serves as the immune system’s primary channel for not just cell and oxygen transportation, but as the human body’s main communication highway.

However, while blood testing is powerful, it is often underused for prevention, prediction and monitoring. This is where [Algocyte](https://www.immunealgorithmics.com/algocyte) aims to reshape the way people obtain information.

On June 29, Algocyte launched Algocyte Proxima, its new haematology analyzer at the historic Royal Society of Medicine after achieving regulatory compliance under UKCA IVD general class. The launch marks the culmination of the work behind a physical AI health-monitoring system that, according to its founder, could evolve into what many AI companies have been trying to build: a meaningful AI application and physical health hub in every person’s home, at the centre of everyday life.

**What is Algocyte?**

Algocyte is Oxford Immune Algorithmics’s flagship, end-to-end solution for intelligent and regular remote health monitoring. A company incubated by Oxford University and spun out from King’s College London that applies computational intelligence to understand health and disease. The Algocyte Proxima Health Station was described as a minimally invasive, ultra portable, and an affordable medical device that will allow clinicians and users to perform the most informative medical blood test beyond Point of Care even at the comfort of people’s homes.

The company states this versatile instrument is powered by what is called physics-informed AI, in this case inspired by the principles of an area of physics called statistical mechanics. This approach keeps AI grounded in physical and biological reality, given the two independent sensors embedded in the device that continuously keep its AI in continuous check during testing by requiring the expected sensor values to converge.

A future company release of the Algocyte platform is planned to learn each patient or user health’s baselines over time and compare their individual health fingerprint against disease signatures that Algocyte has collected and synthesized from millions of others’ health records to guide precision diagnosis.

**The Algorithmic Future of Medicine**

The Algocyte Proxima device is not only unique because its size, price and is operated by a mobile phone app through Bluetooth, but in that its operation driven by AI is made possible and is kept in check by two independent physical sensors inside the instrument that check each other’s results and is based on an innovative counting algorithm that treats cells as quantum particles.

For patients with cancer, lupus, blood- and autoimmune-related diseases, the company states that Algocyte Proxima can help track hematological changes and can offer better patient monitoring for conditions such as leukopenia, anaemia, or thrombocytopenia, which may indicate the need for follow-up tests and clinical review by medical professionals.

The device can help identify blood-based patterns that support earlier detection and triage, which might be missed during isolated checkups and can support better disease management.

For chronic disease and preventive health, the expectation is that regular monitoring can help detect deviations from a person’s baseline earlier than conventional healthcare workflows.

**Hosted at the Royal Society of Medicine**

Algocyte’s new Proxima device launch was hosted at the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) on June 29, 2026, in London. The event showcased its features and multiple use cases in the context of the immune system, disease signature discovery and early detection bringing together world leading speakers such as Prof. Kourosh Saeb-Parsy from Cambridge University, transplant surgeon, NHS consultant and world expert in systems immunology, Prof. Jesper Tegner from KAUST and world leader in AI applied to single cells, and Dr. Narsis Kiani from the Karolinska Institute an expert in computational oncology all associated with Algocyte who joined clinicians and members of the RSM for the official launch of this next-generation hematological analyser.
