When Corina Diehl found herself stepping into her late husband's shoes at Diehl Automotive, it was not an easy transition. She never imagined she’d be in the position to run the dealership alone, but she took on the challenge head-on, driven by a desire to honor her husband's legacy and support her family.

Although consumed with grief, Diehl knew she had to be strong. She wanted to prove to herself and to everyone who doubted her that she was capable of running a business. She thought she owed it to herself to at least give it an honest try. “Every time I felt like I was stumbling, it made me fight harder,” said Diehl. 

While Diehl’s journey to success was marked by a series of hurdles, she was not one to back down. Her hard work, dedication and unwavering commitment to her employees and customers have turned Diehl Automotive into one of Pittsburgh’s most reputable dealerships. 

However, Diehl’s story is about more than just running a successful business. It’s about never giving up in the face of adversity. Ever since her husband’s untimely passing, her motto has been to “survive and thrive,” which is not only an ethos for her business but also a guiding principle for her life. Diehl wants to inspire others to find strength in their setbacks so that they can thrive. 

Diehl recognizes the struggles that many face, especially in the Pittsburgh area. She is passionate about creating opportunities for those in need and making the world a better place for those going through difficult times. Lastly, Diehl is a committee member of Do The Write Thing, which is an initiative that empowers middle school students to break the cycles of violence in their homes, schools and neighborhoods. 

Ultimately, Survive and Thrive is more than a nonprofit–it is a mindset that Diehl sees in others every day.

“\[Survive and Thrive\] is something that we all do every day if we so choose,” said Diehl. That is why she is committed to making donations to a different charity every quarter in honor of those who survive and thrive. Diehl is dedicated to giving back to her community however she can. She wants to make people’s lives better, which is why she treats everyone she meets like family and makes it her mission to take care of her people. 

While she acknowledges the importance of giving money to those in need, she believes “you cannot attach a value to making a meaningful positive impact on someone’s life.” To Diehl, paying it forward is priceless.
