Fisher is a professor of sociology at the University of Maryland, a non-resident senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, and a Distinguished Visiting Scholar at the John Kluge Center at the Library of Congress. She served as a contributing author for the IPCC WG3 AR6 writing on civic engagement and activism.
