_TIME's Chief Business Officer Viktoria Degtar sent the following note to staff on Monday:_ 

Team,

I’m excited to share that Mike Duffy will return to TIME as Managing Director, APAC, beginning September 21\. Based in London, Mike will report to Damian Douglas and join TIME’s global commercial leadership team.

TIME has built a strong and growing international commercial business, supported by long-term partnerships with leading global organizations, a growing slate of events in key markets around the world and an expanding portfolio of international editions. APAC is a critical priority for our next phase of growth. Mike will build on this momentum, leading our commercial business across the region and working across TIME’s platforms to expand our presence and develop enduring partnerships.

Mike will lead our commercial business and work across TIME’s platforms to expand our presence and build long-term partnerships throughout the region.

Mike brings more than 17 years of experience building strategic partnerships across global markets. Most recently, he served as Chief Commercial Officer of The Observer. 

As many of you know, he previously spent six years at TIME, ultimately serving as VP, Partnerships and Head of EMEA. During his tenure, he helped grow TIME’s international business and developed several multiyear partnerships, including the inaugural TIME100 AI Impact Awards in Dubai. He also expanded the TIME100 Impact Awards into new markets and led the launch of TIME100 Africa in Rwanda. 

Mike’s extensive knowledge of TIME, international leadership experience and proven ability to build meaningful partnerships position him well to lead the next chapter of our growth across APAC.


“I’m incredibly excited to return to TIME,” Mike says. “The six years I previously spent here were among the most rewarding of my career. Asia-Pacific is producing the next generation of global leaders, companies, ideas and cultural movements, and TIME is uniquely positioned to convene the people shaping the region.
