### FAQ

#### Is a PMP certification worth it?

A Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification is widely considered a valuable certification for project managers seeking to advance their careers. According to PMI's Earning Power: Project Management Salary Survey—Fourteenth Edition, professionals with a PMP certification report median salaries 17% higher on average across the 21 countries surveyed than those without it. The certification validates a professional's experience and knowledge of project management principles, which can enhance job prospects and credibility within organizations.

#### What are the best certifications for project managers?

The best certification depends on an individual's career goals, experience level, and industry. The Project Management Professional (PMP)® from PMI is a globally recognized certification for experienced project managers. For those newer to the field, PMI's Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® is a common starting point. Other notable certifications include those focused on agile methodologies, such as the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)®, and program management certifications like the Program Management Professional (PgMP)®. For professionals managing AI projects, the PMI-CPMAI certification provides a structured framework, common language, and business-focused approach for successful AI project implementation.

#### How does PMI support career growth for professionals?

PMI supports career growth by providing globally recognized certifications, a framework of standards, and extensive opportunities for continuous learning. Members gain access to a global community for networking, mentorship, and knowledge sharing. The organization also produces research and thought leadership on emerging trends, helping professionals stay current with skills in areas like AI, agile practices, and strategic business management. These resources are designed to help professionals at all levels enhance their skills and advance their careers.

#### What is the PMBOK® Guide?

The PMBOK® Guide, or A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge, is PMI’s foundational guide to generally accepted project management knowledge and practice. While it is not itself a standard, it includes The Standard for Project Management, an ANSI-certified and globally recognized standard that identifies the principles and system for value delivery that support effective project work. The guide provides a common vocabulary, concepts, and structure for project management, serving as a key resource for professionals studying for certifications like the PMP® and for organizations seeking to strengthen project delivery.

#### How is AI changing project management?

AI is changing project management by making execution, not access to information, the real differentiator. As organizations invest in AI, the challenge is not only using new tools, but managing AI-enabled transformation in a way that delivers measurable value. Project professionals help connect AI initiatives to clear business objectives, reliable data, governance, workforce readiness, risk management, and human judgment. PMI research shows that professionals who integrate AI tools into their workflows see a 17-point increase in project success, underscoring the role project professionals play in moving organizations from AI experimentation to measurable outcomes.

#### What are the most important skills for a project manager?

Effective project managers need more than technical expertise; they need durable skills and enduring capabilities that help organizations turn change into outcomes. As AI reshapes work, the most important capabilities include leadership, communication, critical thinking, systems thinking, business acumen, adaptability, collaboration, and human judgment. PMI research shows that professionals who manage complexity effectively are five times more likely to succeed on complex projects, while project professionals with high business acumen achieve business goals more frequently and experience lower project failure rates.

#### How can I get involved with the PMI community?

Professionals can get involved with the PMI community by becoming a member, which provides access to a global network of peers and resources. Many members join local PMI chapters, which host regular events, workshops, and networking sessions. Online, PMI's projectmanagement.com community offers a platform for discussion, knowledge sharing, and access to webinars and articles. Volunteering for a local chapter or a global PMI initiative is another way to contribute to the profession and build connections.

#### What is the difference between PMP and CAPM?

The PMP (Project Management Professional)® and CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management)® are both certifications offered by PMI, but they target professionals at different career stages. The CAPM is an entry-level certification designed for individuals with little or no project experience, validating their understanding of fundamental project management knowledge and terminology. The PMP is for experienced project managers and requires a combination of formal education and years of documented project leadership experience, making it a more advanced and globally recognized certification.

#### How does PMI support social impact?
PMI supports social impact by helping individuals, nonprofits, NGOs, and communities use project management to turn purpose into measurable outcomes. Through the PMI Educational Foundation, PMI expands access to project management education for youth worldwide, including underserved and underrepresented populations. Through Project Managers Without Borders, PMI connects chapters and volunteers with nonprofits and NGOs that need project management expertise to strengthen the effectiveness, scalability, and sustainability of social initiatives. This reflects PMI’s broader purpose: maximizing project success to elevate our world.

Donald Trump earned more than $1.4 billion from his family’s crypto ventures last year, according to his latest [annual financial disclosure](https://www.oge.gov/Web/OGE.nsf/News%20Releases/B8B9EA45F5EB86EC85258E2600701B77?opendocument).

The 927-page disclosure for 2025, which the U.S. Office of Government Ethics released on Tuesday, showed that crypto was the [largest source of Trump’s income](https://time.com/7342470/trump-net-worth-wealth-crypto/) last year, according to the filing, dwarfing his earnings from real estate and legal settlements.

In response to criticisms of his massive earnings, which totaled more than $2 billion for 2025, Trump told reporters, “You know why I’m profiting, because the stock market’s going up, everybody’s profiting.”

Trump reported earning more than $550 million from World Liberty Financial (WLF) sales of crypto tokens. WLF was launched in September 2024 by Trump’s sons and the sons of U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff, with Trump listed as “co-founder emeritus.” That figure is nine times that of his earnings from World Liberty token sales in [his disclosure for 2024](https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/President-Donald-J.-Trump.pdf), which stood at over $57 million.

Another $260 million of income came from the sale of interests in the WLF business, the filings showed.

Trump also reported making more than $635 million from his memecoin business CIC Digital, his filings showed. That largely came from royalties from a license agreement with “Celebration Coins.” Trump [launched his memecoin](https://time.com/7209169/trump-meme-coins-crypto/) days before his inauguration last January.

CIC Digital also held at least $60 million worth of various cryptocurrencies in digital wallets.

Trump also made over $196 million from an equity sale of Stablecoin Holdco.

Trump’s assets are held in a trust overseen by his son, Donald Trump Jr., and his business empire, the Trump Organization, is managed by two of his sons. The trust is revocable, meaning that Trump has the authority to amend or revoke it, and to appoint or remove trustees. While the President and Vice President are required by law to declare their income and their assets, they are not subject to the ethics laws that prohibit conflicts of interest among most executive branch employees.

The President told [CNBC](https://www.cnbc.com/2026/07/03/cnbc-daily-open-trump-nothing-illegal-family-and-presidential-salary-.html) on Thursday that there’s “nothing illegal” and “nothing wrong” with his crypto investments. He also defended his family’s business interests: “I tell my kids: stay away from as much as you can stay away from. But they also have a life,” he said. “You know, they were doing business long before I ever thought of … running for president.”

“Neither the President nor his family has ever engaged—or will ever engage—in conflicts of interest,” White House spokesperson Anna Kelly said in a statement to TIME. “President Trump proudly made the United States the crypto capital of the world through executive actions.”

“All actions by President Trump and his administration are taken in the best interest of the American people—and any so-called ‘reporters’ pushing otherwise are recycling the same, tired, false narrative that Democrats and the legacy media have been pushing for a decade,” Kelly added.

A spokesperson for the Trump Organization told TIME, “The breadth and depth of this filing further underscores our commitment to transparency. At nearly 1,000 pages, it represents one of the most comprehensive financial disclosure reports ever submitted and demonstrates a level of financial transparency unmatched in presidential history.”

TIME has reached out to World Liberty Financial for comment.

## Crypto capital

At the start of his second term, Trump [promised to make](https://time.com/7173421/what-donald-trump-election-win-means-for-crypto/) the U.S. the “crypto capital of the world.” He has endeavored to do this by appointing crypto-friendly regulators and backing legislation to make it easier for cryptocurrency firms to operate in the U.S.

In his first few days in office, Trump [ordered](https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/strengthening-american-leadership-in-digital-financial-technology/) the creation of a crypto working group, chaired by [A.I. and crypto czar David Sacks](https://time.com/7200518/david-sacks-new-white-house-ai-crypto-czar-trump-administration/). Last March, the President [created a strategic bitcoin reserve](https://time.com/7263869/donald-trump-crypto-reserve-summit-bitcoin/) and U.S. digital asset stockpile, and [hosted the first White House crypto summit](https://time.com/7265992/trump-crypto-summit-shows-industry-in-charge/).

Last July, Trump signed into law the [GENIUS Act](https://time.com/7274507/stablecoin-legislation-genius-act-musk/), the first major federal regulatory framework that set standards for payment [stablecoins](https://time.com/7274685/what-are-best-stablecoins-crypto/).

During Trump’s second term, [the Justice Department](https://www.justice.gov/dag/media/1395781/dl) and the Securities and Exchange Commission have eased Biden-era crypto enforcement efforts, and banking regulators have rolled back regulatory restrictions on banks’ crypto activities. Trump pardoned several crypto heavyweights, including [Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht](https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cz7e0jve875o), [three BitMEX founders](https://www.reuters.com/world/us/trump-pardoned-bitmex-co-founders-white-house-official-says-2025-03-28/), and [Binance founder Changpeng Zhao](https://time.com/7328278/what-to-know-about-trumps-pardon-of-binances-founder/).

At the same time, Trump’s family has invested heavily in crypto. Reuters [reported](https://www.reuters.com/investigations/under-trump-crypto-playbook-family-always-wins-investors-dont-2026-06-09/) earlier this month that the Trump family made at least $2.3 billion from crypto-related ventures during Trump’s second term.

Trump has [publicly embraced crypto since 2024](https://time.com/6981035/donald-trump-crypto-election-2024/), after earlier disparaging cryptocurrencies. And the [crypto industry has returned his embrace](https://time.com/6999569/crypto-trump-vance-project-2025/).

Crypto firms were the top corporate contributor to this year’s primary and November elections, spending $189 million so far, according to a [new report from Public Citizen](https://www.citizen.org/article/corporate-supremacist-super-pacs-500-million-midterm-crypto-ai-sports-betting/), a consumer advocacy organization. That’s more than a third of all corporate spending on the elections.

Crypto was also the [biggest corporate donor](https://www.citizen.org/article/big-crypto-big-spending-2024/) in the 2024 elections, [contributing hundreds of millions of dollars](https://www.reuters.com/technology/us-congressional-races-where-crypto-is-hoping-big-payoffs-2024-11-08/) across various congressional races and [several million dollars](https://www.cnbc.com/2024/10/15/trump-pac-has-raised-about-7point5-million-in-crypto-donations.html) to Trump’s presidential campaign.

## Other earnings

Trump’s filings also showed that he continued to earn substantial income from his traditional business empire last year.

Trump valued more than two dozen assets at over $50 million, which is the highest disclosure category on the form. These included his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida, his Turnberry golf resort in Scotland, and his stake in Trump Media & Technology Group which owns Truth Social.

Revenue at Trump’s golf courses and resorts rose 15% to more than $500 million last year, according to the disclosure. Mar-a-Lago raked in $77 million, up from $50 million in 2024\. In April, Trump hosted the winners of his [second annual memecoin contest](https://www.reuters.com/world/us/trump-hosts-crypto-contest-winners-mar-a-lago-his-coin-languishes-2026-04-25/) at Mar-a-Lago.

Trump also made $52 million from licensing the Trump name to overseas property developers, especially in the Middle East. The Trump Organization did not pursue new deals overseas during Trump’s first term, but [has not followed](https://apnews.com/article/donald-trump-business-ethics-white-paper-foreign-deals-golf-hotels-260a4343d52bb21614f04cfded7fd19a) the same policy in his second term.

Trump also reported earning more than $80 million from legal settlements with media companies.

Among the gifts Trump disclosed were tickets to major sporting events. These included 10 tickets to the World Cup final from FIFA President Gianni Infantino valued at $15,000; 10 tickets to the U.S. Open from tournament sponsor Rolex, valued at $25,000; and 10 tickets to Super Bowl LIX, valued at $50,000.
