The [New Glenn](https://www.blueorigin.com/new-glenn) rocket, named after John Glenn, the first American astronaut to orbit Earth, experienced an “anomaly” at approximately 9 p.m. E.T. at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. “We experienced an anomaly during today's hotfire test. Bezos [said](https://x.com/JeffBezos/status/2060182822170902622) it had been a “very rough day” and that while it’s “too early” to know the root cause, the team is “already working to find it.” “We’ll rebuild whatever needs rebuilding and get back to flying. The Blue Origin rocket had been [preparing](https://x.com/blueorigin/status/2059676643875049654) for its fourth launch to carry 48 Amazon Leo satellites into low-Earth orbit, amid efforts ​to build a broadband constellation to rival Elon Musk’s Starlink network.
