In an interview with radio host Hugh Hewitt, Trump [repeated criticism](https://time.com/article/2026/04/14/catholic-vance-breaks-silence-on-deleted-trump-jesus-image-amid-outcry/) of the head of the Catholic Church over what the U.S. President sees as his stance on Iran and the nuclear issue. "I think ⁠he's endangering a lot of Catholics and ‌a lot of people,” Trump said. “But I guess it's up to the Pope. He thinks it's just fine for Iran to have a nuclear weapon."
