This year, TIME editors launch the **TIME100 Companies: Industry Leaders** lists, an expansion of the TIME100 Most Influential Companies issue that dives deeper into 20 sectors to look at the companies shaping their industries. These are the 10 most influential companies in travel and tourism of 2026.

### Breeze Airways

_America’s fastest-growing airline_

While competitors like [Southwest](https://www.cnbc.com/2025/07/23/southwest-airlines-luv-2q-2025-earnings.html) and [Spirit](https://www.newsweek.com/spirit-airlines-decline-passengers-major-us-city-10957040) struggle with declining sales, startup Breeze Airways, founded by JetBlue creator David Neeleman, has managed to become America's fastest-growing airline. Its success is built on three elements: low fares, high quality, and a monopoly mindset. Breeze connects smaller cities—like Evansville, Indiana, or Provo, Utah—that legacy airlines abandoned or never served, making it the [sole operator](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2941198X26000011) on nearly 90% of its 220 routes. Even with fares as low as $30 one-way, the airline received the 2025 “best cabin service” [award](https://www.insidertravelreport.com/breeze-airways-beats-out-bigger-carriers-wins-best-cabin-service) from the Airline Passenger Experience Association. Breeze started 2026 strong, operating nearly 41% more flights in early 2026 compared to the prior [year](https://www.msn.com/en-us/travel/news/huge-41-more-flights-the-us-s-fastest-growing-airline-in-2026/ar-AA1VHTgd?apiversion=v2&domshim=1&noservercache=1&noservertelemetry=1&batchservertelemetry=1&renderwebcomponents=1&wcseo=1). In January, the airline also [added](https://www.flybreeze.com/news/breeze-expands-its-nice-nonstop-service-to-new-destinations-including-nassau) international service to Cancún, Punta Cana, and Montego Bay. And there's plenty of runway left: Neeleman [says](https://aviationweek.com/air-transport/airlines-lessors/breeze-airways-unveils-new-routes-grows-network-72-airports) there are potentially an additional 1,500 city pairs Breeze could fly without competing with a major U.S. airline. _—Joe Mullich_

### Lindblad Expeditions

_Adventure travel pioneer_

Lars-Eric Lindblad set the bar for bucket list travel by sailing the first group of non-scientific travelers to Antarctica in 1966, repeating the feat soon after in the Galapagos Islands. His namesake adventure travel company has since expanded to destinations from Greenland to Indonesia, Malta, and Baja, adding [river cruises across Europe in 2026](https://press.expeditions.com/press-releases/view/national-geographic-lindblad-expeditions-unveils-first-ever-european-river-expedition-season-on-the-rhine). “Our company started with a mission and fundamental belief in that transformative power of adventure experiences,” says Lindblad Expeditions CEO Natalya Leahy. “Everything we do is around this North Star.” The company teamed up with National Geographic in 2007, to bring National Geographic photographers, scientists, and explorers on to Lindblad’s ships. “Last year, we hosted scientists on 25 of our voyages, and the scientists go and do real research, then they share their work with guests,” says Leahy. It is a winning combination for guests, who are increasingly seeking out impactful vacations. In 2025, the company also saw its [strongest financial performance ever](https://investors.expeditions.com/press-releases/news-details/2026/Lindblad-Expeditions-Holdings-Inc--Reports-2025-Fourth-Quarter-and-Full-Year-Financial-Results/default.aspx), reporting $771 million in revenue, an increase of 20% from the year before. —_Melissa Locker_

### AllTrails

_Growing adventure guide_

A record-high of 63 million people hiked in the U.S. in 2024, according to the Outdoor Industry Association—an increase of 5 million in just four years. Helping explorers of all skill levels navigate terrain is AllTrails, a platform offering more than 500,000 verified trail maps for hiking, biking, and running that saw its global users balloon from 10 million in 2019 to more than 95 million in March 2026\. Though a version of the AllTrails app is free, the company bolstered its paid-subscription offerings in 2025 to include expanded offline maps, custom routes (allowing users to modify existing trails), reporting on conditions like weather and mosquito activity, and an AI-powered feature that identifies plants and insects. “We want to help people find their trail, plan their trip,” CEO Liz Hamren says, “Then, when you're out on the trail, how do we make that experience great.” AllTrails also announced partnerships with T-Mobile (to [provide satellite service in dead zones](https://www.alltrails.com/press/alltrails-introduces-satellite-support-for-android)), Apple (in-app Apple Intelligence integration), and OpenAI (enabling users to access trail maps directly in ChatGPT). In 2026, AllTrails continues to add new maps in [over 200 countries](https://www.alltrails.com/directory/countries) worldwide, plus real-time updates on trail conditions and closures using data from [more than 800 partner agencies](https://www.alltrails.com/press/alltrails-steps-up-investments-in-public-lands-and-outdoor-communities), nonprofits, and community organizations. —_Charlotte Hu_

### Jet2

_Taking off online_

Jet2, the U.K.-based airline, hit the internet jackpot when the audio from its years-old ad campaign promoting its vacation packages went viral at the start of summer 2025\. Social platforms were filled with ersatz ads for the air carrier’s vacations, pairing disastrous or chaotic happenings with the cheekily cheerful phrase, “Nothing beats a Jet2holiday,” while Jess Glynne’s song, “Hold My Hand,” plays. Jet2 [told TIME](https://time.com/collections/worlds-best-brands/7323875/worlds-best-brands-of-2025-united-kingdom/) in October that the virality—over 80 billion global views across TikTok—has increased its brand awareness worldwide, especially among young adults. Leaning into the memes, Jet2 released limited edition merchandise last year with [Foudy’s and Havas](https://www.linkedin.com/posts/womens-football%5Fproject-jet2-festival-football-shirt-client-activity-7424139644621041664-ChbW) as well as [Skinnydip London](https://blog.jet2.com/nothing-beats-a-jet2holiday-skinnydip-collection). The airline, which started in 1971 flying flowers from Guernsey to the world, took its first commercial flight in 2003\. In 2007, Jet2 started offering vacation packages through its newly-launched subsidiary, Jet2holidays. Last April, Jet2holidays was named the [biggest tour operator](https://www.caa.co.uk/newsroom/news/1-616-businesses-in-the-travel-sector-licensed-under-the-atol-scheme/) by the U.K. Civil Aviation Authority—before its ad went viral. The company [reported in November](https://www.jet2plc.com/en/company-reports) that its revenue was up 5% from the year before and has increased around 142% since 2019\. —_Melissa Locker_

### Viking

_Big little cruises_

The demand for river cruises has been growing at an annual rate of 10-15% [in the last decade](https://cruising.org/about-cruise-industry/river-cruising), with travelers increasingly seeking more luxurious and sustainable options. If you ask Viking CEO Torstein Hagen what he’s most excited about when it comes to the future of his long-running, top-rated river cruise line, it’s not the Tulip Season river tour from Antwerp and Amsterdam or its new 2027 trip along India’s Brahmaputra River. It’s the [Viking Libra](https://www.vikingcruises.com/oceans/ships/viking-libra.html), set to be the world’s first zero-emission hydrogen-powered ocean cruise ship and developed in partnership with Italian shipmaker Fincantieri. “People said it couldn't be done, but we're doing it,” Hagen says. Already under construction, the _Libra_ is scheduled for delivery in late 2026 with the next hydrogen ship _Viking Astrea_ [scheduled for 2027](https://ir.viking.com/news-events/press-releases/detail/185/viking-and-fincantieri-announce-worlds-first-hydrogen-powered-cruise-ship-and-two-new-ship-orders). Its eco-minded practices aren’t the only thing that sets Viking cruise line apart. “We have small ships. We don't allow children. We don't have gyms or casinos. We don't nickel and dime people,” Hagen says, and about those bigger cruise lines starting to get into the river cruise business, Hagen isn’t worried: “We have a 28-year head start.” —_Melissa Locker_

### Club Med

_All-inclusive, everywhere_

Once synonymous with beach escapes and bottomless buffets, the all-inclusive resort is showing up in unexpected places—and Club Med is driving the change. The French hospitality giant that pioneered the concept in 1950 has spent the past two decades nudging it steadily upmarket, phasing out its midscale portfolio and focusing exclusively on premium properties, often in more complex categories. (For example, mountain resorts—which include lift tickets, ski lessons, and dining—now account for roughly 35% of Club Med’s global business, with more than 20 properties across the Alps, China, Japan, and North America.) “It’s about offering an experience people can’t easily put together on their own,” says Carolyne Doyon, president and CEO of Club Med North America and the Caribbean. With nearly 60 resorts across 40 countries and more than 1.5 million guests in 2024, the company will add its [first South African resort](https://www.clubmed.us/l/club-med-south-africa-beach-safari), a beach-and-safari concept on the Dolphin Coast, in 2026\. “This isn’t Club Med!” Oh, but it is. _—Ashlea Halpern_

### Meow Wolf

_Experiential entertainment_

Years before “immersive art” became a marketing buzzword, Meow Wolf helped invent the category. Since its founding in 2008, the punky DIY artist collective and certified B Corp has drawn more than 13 million visitors to its maximalist, story-driven installations in Santa Fe, Las Vegas, Denver, Houston, and Grapevine, Texas. In the process, it created the blueprint for a new kind of artist-led, participatory attraction: by building each site with local artists, new narratives, and a story universe that extends into publishing, gaming, and digital media. “The whole challenge is: Can we continue to produce large-scale, authentic, truly human-made art while also going to scale?” says co-founder and Chief Vision Officer Vince Kadlubek. That balancing act is about to meet its biggest stage yet. Los Angeles—where Meow Wolf’s sixth permanent exhibition will open in a former cinema later in 2026—puts the company squarely in one of America’s fiercest entertainment markets, with [New York City next on the horizon](https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/11/arts/design/meow-wolf-new-york.html). _—Ashlea Halpern_

### WeatherPromise

_Rainproofing your vacation_

For travelers eyeing a beach trip in hurricane season or a trekking expedition during the monsoons, WeatherPromise wants to take the gamble out of bad weather. Founded in 2022, the fintech upstart embeds customized weather guarantees directly into the booking path, offering automatic refunds if rainfall at a destination exceeds a set threshold during a traveler’s stay. “Claims is a dirty word for us,” says co-founder Daniel Price. “No one wants to spend their vacation filling out paperwork.” Behind the scenes, the company draws on historical records and its proprietary algorithm to customize each offer. It then tracks weather conditions during the trip from real-time inputs including satellites, radar, and weather stations. Partners like JetBlue Vacations, Marriott Homes & Villas, Vrbo, and HomeToGo are betting this approachcan nudge travelers to book trips they might otherwise skip, particularly in shoulder seasons or to less predictable destinations. The model is catching on: WeatherPromise closed a $12.8 million Series A funding round in January and now covers trips to more than 95 countries across six continents. _—Ashlea Halpern_

### Fora

_Travel-agency innovator_

The idea for a modern, tech-savvy travel agency started during the pandemic, when Fora co-founder Henley Vazquez saw her travel business vanish. She was confident the industry would return and, along with co-founders Evan Frank and Jake Peters, she saw an opportunity to reinvent the $100 billion travel adviser industry that was hampered by outdated technology, gatekeeping, and biased commission structures. “We didn't want to just do something that was a better version of what happened already; we wanted to create a place for new people to enter the industry,” Vazquez says. Anyone can apply to be a Fora adviser, go through online training, and pay a fee to access all of Fora’s tools and accommodation and activities partners that they can book with. Then they plan trips for others and receive a commission from each booking. Fora boasts a growing network of over 15,000 active travel advisers—86% are women, nearly half are parents, and majority new to travel advising. The company has generated around $2.5 billion in sales and [raised $60 million in investment](https://www.foratravel.com/newsroom/fora-announces-series-b-c-funding) last April. “That is the proof that travel agencies are not in any way dead,” says Vazquez. —_Melissa Locker_

### Amtrak

_U.S. rail expansion_

As frustrations with airlines mount, more and more Americans are turning to trains to get from point A to point B. Amtrak, the nation’s primary provider of intercity passenger rail service, is meeting this moment. In 2025, the company broke its own ridership and revenue records for the second consecutive year, with 34.5 million customer trips and $2.7 billion in adjusted ticket revenue. As demand grows, so too have Amtrak’s efforts to expand and modernize its fleet. In August, the company restored its Gulf Coast coverage with the launch of its Mardi Gras Service, which had already shuttled 46,000 customers by December; it also debuted its NextGen Acela—a new version of the high-speed train with upgraded amenities and a tilt system, which the company says provides a smoother, quieter ride—on its Northeast Corridor route. (To celebrate, Amtrak dropped a line of [limited-edition “‘Trak Suits”](https://media.amtrak.com/2025/09/amtrak-makes-fashion-week-debut-with-trak-suit-contest/) designed in collaboration with the New York School of Design.) Momentum continues into 2026: in February, Amtrak unveiled its new Airo fleet, designed to increase comfort, reliability, and connectivity for passengers; the trains are expected to begin service later this year on 14 routes across the Pacific Northwest and Eastern U.S.. _—Avery Stone_

**Correction, April 29:**
_The original version of this story misstated Fora's current number of active travel advisers, as well as its current sales. It is 15,000 active advisors, not 7,000, and $2.5 billion in sales, not $2 billion._
