Its cover featured the cause’s leader, Cesar Chavez, and the story inside described a “tiny, tough assistant” named [Dolores Huerta](https://time.com/5793617/dolores-huerta-100-women-of-the-year/). Just a few weeks ago, we learned, yet again, how tough Huerta is when she came forward to join other women in claiming that they had been [sexually assaulted by Chavez](https://time.com/article/2026/03/18/dolores-huerta-cesar-chavez-allegations-united-farm-workers/), a lion of America’s left. “I have kept this secret long enough. My silence ends here,” said Huerta, a fierce advocate for women and workers. We remain, as we wrote on a cover last fall, very much in Trump’s world. As I write this, the [Iran war](https://time.com/article/2026/04/13/iran-US-peace-talks-islamabad-war-nuclear/) is approaching its 40th day of fighting, and our list this year includes four members of his Administration, including those who focus on foreign policy. It also includes a number of Democrats who have come to power or prominence as they confront the President and his policies. Global leaders on the 2026 TIME100 like Canada’s [Mark Carney](https://time.com/collection/100-most-influential-people/2026/mark-carney/) and Denmark’s [Mette Frederiksen](https://time.com/collection/100-most-influential-people/2026/mette-frederiksen/) have seen their popularity increase at home as they stood up to Trump this past year.
