**_Warning: This post contains spoilers for_** **Ready or Not 2: Here I Come** **_._**

When you play a game of hide-and-seek with Mr. Le Bail, it's going to be a long and bloody night. If you have to play two nights in a row, all-out carnage may be an understatement.

Seven years after [_Ready or Not_](https://time.com/5898733/underrated-horror-movies/) became a breakout horror hit in 2019, Radio Silence directing duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett ([_Scream_](https://time.com/6139657/scream-5-explained/)[, _Scream VI_](https://time.com/6261345/scream-6-ending-killer/)) are back with a sequel that cranks the dial up several notches to deliver a rollicking bloodbath of a good time. _Ready or Not 2: Here I Come_, now in theaters, picks up right where the first movie left off, with paramedics transporting a shellshocked Grace (Samara Weaving) to the hospital in the immediate aftermath of her defeating her new in-laws, the Le Domas family, in the deadly game of hide-and-seek they forced her to participate in the night after her wedding to their youngest son, Alex (Mark O'Brien). Unfortunately, since the police aren't aware of the Le Domas' soul-selling deal with Mr. Le Bail, a.k.a. Satan, they suspect Grace of murdering the uber-wealthy family and setting their mansion on fire for her own gains.

When Grace's estranged sister Faith (Kathryn Newton), who is still listed as her emergency contact, shows up at the hospital, Grace lets her in on what actually happened after she and Alex arrived at his family's estate in the wake of their nuptials. Still, neither of them are prepared when the knife-wielding patriarch of the Wilkinson family blasts his way into the hospital in an attempt to murder Grace. Turns out, by surviving the Le Domas' game of hide-and-seek, Grace has triggered a double-or-nothing rematch against the five remaining families of Mr. Le Bail's so-called High Council. The board is now set for a new game, one in which the eldest member of each Satan-worshipping High Council family will hunt and attempt to kill Grace in order to claim the High Seat of the Council, and thereby gain the power to control the world.

(L-R): Kathryn Newton as Faith and Samara Weaving as Grace in Ready or Not 2. Searchlight Pictures

Bill Wilkinson (Kevin Durand) quickly blows his family's shot both at claiming the seat and surviving the day by breaking one of Mr. Le Bail's rules, causing him and his entire bloodline to implode on the spot. But that still leaves the long-reigning Danforths, represented by adult twins Ursula (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Titus (Shawn Hatosy) after they smother their elderly father Chester (David Cronenberg) to death at his own behest; the Wan Chens, represented by matriarch Xing (Olivia Cheng); the El Caídos, represented by patriarch Ignacio (Nestor Carbonell); and the Rajans, represented by eldest son Viraj (Nadeem Umar-Khitab).

Once Grace and Faith are drugged and unwillingly transported to the Danforths' country club resort, Mr. Le Bail's lawyer (Elijah Wood) lays down the rules of the competition—one being, of course, that Grace has no choice but to play or they will kill Faith.

## How does _Ready or Not 2_ end?

(L-R): Nestor Carbonell as Ignacio, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Ursula, Shawn Hatosy as Titus, Elijah Wood as the Lawyer, and Nadeem Umar-Khitab as Viraj in Ready or Not 2. Pief Weyman—Searchlight Pictures

After the Cheng, El Caído, and Rajan families are all but eliminated from the competition, Grace has an opportunity to escape the compound. But when she learns Titus has captured and beaten Faith nearly to death, she heads back inside, guns blazing. Unfortunately, she eventually still finds herself backed into a corner and is forced to strike a deal with Titus based on an overlooked bylaw of the game she learned about from Xing earlier that day: If she marries Titus, the bloodshed can stop and he will still gain the High Council seat.

While Grace is getting herself cleaned up for the wedding, Ursula pays her a visit to warn her about how evil Titus is and to plead with her to help her try to control his worst impulses once they're wed. However, Titus overhears this conversation and promptly snaps Ursula's neck to show Grace who is boss. While competitors aren't allowed kill each other, even by accident, according to Mr. Le Bail's playbook, Titus smugly reminds Grace there are no rules that prevent them from murdering a member of their own family.

Meanwhile, all the Satan worshippers have gathered in the Danforths' Black Temple for the ceremony, which Grace actually does go through with. Except she follows up her "I do" by repeatedly stabbing Titus in the neck and tossing him into the temple's corpse-filled pit, using his own reveal about killing family members against him. Mr. Le Bail's Lawyer hands the ring that accompanies the council's ruling position over to Grace, but she immediately uses it to abdicate the seat before tossing it into the pit. The remaining Satan worshippers then spend the final minutes of their lives brutally duking it out in the gore before dawn arrives and they implode, leaving only Grace, Faith, and the Lawyer still alive. The spectral figure of Mr. Le Bail once again appears and seemingly gives Grace a nod of approval as the sisters at long last make their way off the cursed property.

As for whether there will be more _Ready or Not_ movies to look forward to, the filmmakers have hinted that while Grace's tale has likely concluded, the franchise could go on to explore new characters. "I think we made this movie as a definitive end, but we also made the _first_ movie as a definitive end," Bettinelli-Olpin told [_Inverse_](https://www.inverse.com/entertainment/ready-not-2-ending-explained-radio-silence-interview). "The world can continue, but the story is complete."
