In a [Truth Social post](https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/116239674084445278 "undefined") on Monday morning, the President said that Wiles had been diagnosed with “early stage breast cancer,” adding that she “has decided to take on this challenge, IMMEDIATELY, as opposed to waiting.” He called her “a great person, and one of the strongest people I know.” “She has a fantastic medical team, and her prognosis is excellent!” Trump said. “During the treatment period, she will be spending virtually full time at the White House, which makes me, as President, very happy! Her Strength and her Commitment to continue doing the job she loves, and does so well, while undergoing treatment, tells you everything you need to know about her.” “Susie, as one of my closest and most important advisors, is tough and deeply committed to serving the American People,” he continued. “She will soon be better than ever! I now join their ranks.” She told the _Times_ that she is “grateful to have an outstanding team of doctors who detected the cancer early,” and that she is “encouraged by a strong prognosis.” “I am also deeply thankful for the support and encouragement of President Trump as I undergo treatment and continue serving in my current role,” she said. Wiles has been a close advisor to Trump over the past several years, serving as his campaign manager during the 2024 election. After Trump won the presidency for a second time in November 2024, he announced that Wiles would be his White House chief of staff, making her the first woman to hold that role.
