Previously, it had only been offered through participating employers. “We are super excited now to expand and open the doors of Maven to everybody,” says [Kate Ryder](https://time.com/collections/time100-leadership-forums/7018246/womens-leadership-forum-biggest-moments/), founder and CEO Of Maven Clinic. She says the wider access is launching with a select group of women in the coming months and will officially begin in May. During the pilot period, the company will finalize pricing for the new subscriptions, which women will be able to choose based on their life stage and circumstances—such as hormone care, GLP-1 management, and more. The company will also offer access to its virtual clinic, which connects patients to more than 600 providers who offer a broad range of general services addressing women’s health. The move is the latest example of a broader trend in medicine to target patients directly with online services and digital solutions—like telehealth and online appointment bookings—that increase access to health services and provide a wider range and more convenient services. **Read More**: [_What Menopause Does to the Brain_](https://time.com/collections/time-for-you-menopause/7328125/menopause-brain-health/) Ryder, a former journalist and venture capitalist, says she created the company—which was [valued at $1.7 billion in 2024](https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/women-focused-health-startup-maven-valued-17-bln-funding-round-2024-10-08/)—in 2015 after hearing too many stories from friends and colleagues of how fragmented women's health care is, and how common it is to bounce around from doctor to doctor in search of answers. Maven Clinic's goal is to help women find appropriate care for issues like fertility, miscarriage, and postpartum depression; guide them through perimenopause and menopause; and, if needed, connect them to relevant specialists like dietitians, pelvic floor therapists, and even pediatricians. This goal includes helping lead women to the best evidence-based strategies or treatments while sidestepping unsubstantiated hype. “We are at the point in the market where there are now a ton of companies to choose from, and the health care consumer is smarter and wants to know, ‘What is going to work for me? What is going to give me results at the most affordable price?’” says Ryder. Maven’s providers are trained to work with women throughout their lifetimes, providing them continuity of care that is often lacking. The company uses AI-based analyses to help doctors analyze women's health history, identify coverage benefits, and better match patients to the providers they need. Doctors, for example, are beginning to see benefits of GLP-1 medications in regulating women’s menstrual cycles, addressing some of the symptoms of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and improving fertility, Ryder says. “We are now at a point where there are so many more applications of GLP-1s, particularly in women’s health, beyond the original use cases of diabetes and weight management," she adds. Ryder hopes that opening up services will help women take charge of their health. “Women are the predominant consumer of health care in the U.S. and control 80% of health care decisions for themselves and for their families,” she says. “But women’s health is underserved.
