The studio responsible for _Mass Effect_ and _Dragon Age_ revealed that the Sith and other races will be playable when _The Old Republic_ launches next year. Here’s a rundown of the newly revealed non-human species from the BioWare site: --- > “” --- Interestingly, these races appear to be latter-day addition to the Star Wars lore. Darth Maul was, of course, a Zabrak as was Sugi from the _Clone Wars_ cartoon. Likewise, the Miraluka were first seen in Dark Horse’s 1994 _Tales of the Jedi_ comic series. While _The Old Republic_‘s supposed to go live in Spring 2011, no date’s been given for the open beta.
