### FAQ

#### Is a PMP certification worth it?

A Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification is widely considered a valuable certification for project managers seeking to advance their careers. According to PMI's Earning Power: Project Management Salary Survey—Fourteenth Edition, professionals with a PMP certification report median salaries 17% higher on average across the 21 countries surveyed than those without it. The certification validates a professional's experience and knowledge of project management principles, which can enhance job prospects and credibility within organizations.

#### What are the best certifications for project managers?

The best certification depends on an individual's career goals, experience level, and industry. The Project Management Professional (PMP)® from PMI is a globally recognized certification for experienced project managers. For those newer to the field, PMI's Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® is a common starting point. Other notable certifications include those focused on agile methodologies, such as the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)®, and program management certifications like the Program Management Professional (PgMP)®. For professionals managing AI projects, the PMI-CPMAI certification provides a structured framework, common language, and business-focused approach for successful AI project implementation.

#### How does PMI support career growth for professionals?

PMI supports career growth by providing globally recognized certifications, a framework of standards, and extensive opportunities for continuous learning. Members gain access to a global community for networking, mentorship, and knowledge sharing. The organization also produces research and thought leadership on emerging trends, helping professionals stay current with skills in areas like AI, agile practices, and strategic business management. These resources are designed to help professionals at all levels enhance their skills and advance their careers.

#### What is the PMBOK® Guide?

The PMBOK® Guide, or A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge, is PMI’s foundational guide to generally accepted project management knowledge and practice. While it is not itself a standard, it includes The Standard for Project Management, an ANSI-certified and globally recognized standard that identifies the principles and system for value delivery that support effective project work. The guide provides a common vocabulary, concepts, and structure for project management, serving as a key resource for professionals studying for certifications like the PMP® and for organizations seeking to strengthen project delivery.

#### How is AI changing project management?

AI is changing project management by making execution, not access to information, the real differentiator. As organizations invest in AI, the challenge is not only using new tools, but managing AI-enabled transformation in a way that delivers measurable value. Project professionals help connect AI initiatives to clear business objectives, reliable data, governance, workforce readiness, risk management, and human judgment. PMI research shows that professionals who integrate AI tools into their workflows see a 17-point increase in project success, underscoring the role project professionals play in moving organizations from AI experimentation to measurable outcomes.

#### What are the most important skills for a project manager?

Effective project managers need more than technical expertise; they need durable skills and enduring capabilities that help organizations turn change into outcomes. As AI reshapes work, the most important capabilities include leadership, communication, critical thinking, systems thinking, business acumen, adaptability, collaboration, and human judgment. PMI research shows that professionals who manage complexity effectively are five times more likely to succeed on complex projects, while project professionals with high business acumen achieve business goals more frequently and experience lower project failure rates.

#### How can I get involved with the PMI community?

Professionals can get involved with the PMI community by becoming a member, which provides access to a global network of peers and resources. Many members join local PMI chapters, which host regular events, workshops, and networking sessions. Online, PMI's projectmanagement.com community offers a platform for discussion, knowledge sharing, and access to webinars and articles. Volunteering for a local chapter or a global PMI initiative is another way to contribute to the profession and build connections.

#### What is the difference between PMP and CAPM?

The PMP (Project Management Professional)® and CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management)® are both certifications offered by PMI, but they target professionals at different career stages. The CAPM is an entry-level certification designed for individuals with little or no project experience, validating their understanding of fundamental project management knowledge and terminology. The PMP is for experienced project managers and requires a combination of formal education and years of documented project leadership experience, making it a more advanced and globally recognized certification.

#### How does PMI support social impact?
PMI supports social impact by helping individuals, nonprofits, NGOs, and communities use project management to turn purpose into measurable outcomes. Through the PMI Educational Foundation, PMI expands access to project management education for youth worldwide, including underserved and underrepresented populations. Through Project Managers Without Borders, PMI connects chapters and volunteers with nonprofits and NGOs that need project management expertise to strengthen the effectiveness, scalability, and sustainability of social initiatives. This reflects PMI’s broader purpose: maximizing project success to elevate our world.

When it comes to sharing and storing your photos online, there are dozens of options. From well-known sites like [Flickr](http://www.flickr.com/) to smaller sites like [Fotki](http://www.fotki.com/us/en/), it can be hard to wade through them all to find the perfect place to host your precious memories.

There are [a handful of questions](http://www.techlicious.com/tip/how-to-choose-the-best-photo-sharing-service/) you should consider before making a decision; [privacy](http://www.techlicious.com/privacy) controls, the ability to print or download photos, [storage space](http://www.techlicious.com/guide/best-cloud-sync-storage-services/), and usage fees are just a few things to think about. With those questions in mind, we’ve gathered the best photo sharing websites in this handy comparison post to help you make your decision.

## The Big Photo Sharing Sites

### Flickr

The largest photo-focused website, [Flickr](http://www.flickr.com/) is generally accepted to be one of the best options. It’s free for casual users, though there are limitations, including only 300MB of uploads per month and the ability to display only the most recent 200 photos. Upgrading to a Pro account for $24.95 for one year, or $44.95 for two years, gets you unlimited storage and video uploads. Flickr lets users tag, caption, and set copyright permissions on photos, and organize them into collections and sets. Flickr also has a thriving community of photo enthusiasts, with groups and galleries galore to browse and enjoy, and easy-to-use apps for both iPhone and Android phones.

One of the big benefits of [Shutterfly](http://www.shutterfly.com/) is that there is no cost for unlimited photo storage. Instead, they make their money from prints and other customizable gifts such as mugs, mouse pads, and calendars. Users can create Share sites, which are secure personal web pages where you can share photos, videos, and more with family and friends. You can also order prints for in-store pickup at Walgreens and Target. Shutterfly has apps for the iPhone, [iPad](http://topics.time.com/ipad/), and Roku.

A photo sharing site largely focused on social media integration, [Photobucket](http://photobucket.com/) makes it easy to share your photos with specific friends and social networks, including [Facebook](http://topics.time.com/facebook/) and Twitter. It also offers unlimited photo and video storage, though they do limit file sizes. There are also fun options like creating digital slideshows and adding effects to your images, as well as turning your photos into physical prints and customizable gifts.

### Snapfish

![](https://static.time.com/v3/assets/bltea6093859af6183b/bltdc2607732522e45f/6998baa893610c63aec2e4e6/snapfish-photos-600px.jpg?branch=production&width=1080&quality=75&auto=webp&crop=16:9)

[Snapfish](http://www.snapfish.com/) is one of the easiest photo sharing websites, and thus is a big hit with the less tech-savvy crowd. It offers a lot of editing and sharing features, as well as prints and other photo products. Snapfish has unlimited free storage, but they do require that users buy at least one print (for a whopping $.09) per year to keep their account active. Prints can be shipped directly from the site or picked up at many different stores, including [Walmart](http://topics.time.com/walmart/), Walgreens, and Meijer. Members can share photos or albums via email, but Snapfish doesn’t offer integrated sharing via Facebook or Twitter.

Fees: One purchase per year ($0.09)
Need account to view photos: yes

## Boutique Photo Sharing Sites

### Fotki

Out of the plethora of smaller photo hosting websites, three stand out as real contenders. [Fotki](http://www.fotki.com/us/en/) is fun because it has a photocentric social network aspect, hosts photo contests, and allows users to sell prints (rather than just allowing users to buy prints but not make any money off of them).

Fees: none, [premium account available](https://secure.fotki.com/payment/view/)
Need account to view photos: no
Privacy controls: public, private and password protected

[SlickPic](http://www.slickpic.com/) is a fairly standard photo sharing service, but it also has a number of interesting features. In addition to creating personal or professional photo galleries and albums, you can create photoblogs and actually have a professional designer enhance your favorite photographs (for a fee). It also offers plug-in integration with Adobe Lightroom, Windows Gallery, Apple Aperture, and Apple iPhoto.

Fees: none, [premium account available](http://www.slickpic.com/user/register/)

[Facebook](http://www.techlicious.com/facebook/) is the largest social network in the world, and with millions of users, it’s a pretty easy place to share your photographs. You can upload pictures straight from your phone or from your desktop, and organize them into folders. The biggest drawback to Facebook as a photo sharing site is that, depending on the privacy settings you use, your photos may only be visible to other Facebook users on your friends list.

[Tumblr](http://www.tumblr.com/) isn’t exactly a photo sharing website; it’s a blogging platform that’s geared towards showcasing photography, paintings, design, and other art. It’s free and relatively easy to use, but also somewhat limited on design options. If you prefer to show off your photos one or two at a time, interspersed with text commentary, Tumblr might be perfect!

### Instagram

Instagram began life as an iPhone app (free on [iTunes](https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/instagram/id389801252?mt=8%E2%80%8E)), but has recently expanded to Android phones as well (free at [Google Play](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.instagram.android&hl=en)). The app lets you take photos on your phone, and tweak them by adding fun effects and filters, then share them with friends on social media. [Pictacular](http://www.pinstagram.co/), formarly known as Pinstagram, is a hybrid interface that allows you to view your Instagram photos on the web, in a lovely waterfall view.

## Dropbox: A cloud storage option

A somewhat surprising option for photo sharing, not just online photo storage, is [Dropbox](http://www.dropbox.com/%E2%80%8E). If all you want is a simple, slick way to share your photos with friends and family online, without cluttering it up with social media, ads, or a push to buy photo products, Dropbox offers an excellent alternative. You can create photo galleries and then share the link, and, unlike sharing files, the person at the other end doesn’t actually download the files – they can just see them in an elegant slideshow view. While you can’t order prints or edit photos in Dropbox, and it does require installing a desktop application, the simple and easy-to-use interface and clean slideshow view definitely offer [an appealing option](http://www.techlicious.com/guide/best-cloud-sync-storage-services/).
