More dads than ever are staying at home to look after the kids, but the disparity between men and women is still very stark. (See the little green boxes at the bottom of the chart? Those are the dads.) Note that during the recession, the numbers of both moms and dads who stayed at home dipped, but the dads’ numbers went back up more quickly, according to this data from the U.S. Census.
