The folks at Madison Square Garden will find out this evening as a who’s who of rock and pop — from Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones to Kanye West and Chris Martin — come together for the “12-12-12” concert to help the victims of Superstorm Sandy. Arguably the biggest lineup of music talent ever in one show, many of the artists lending their talents have direct ties to the region devastated by the late October storm that killed more than 125 people, left parts of New York City underwater and millions of others without heat or electricity for weeks — including New Jersey natives Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi, Long Islander Billy Joel and New Yorker Alicia Keys.
