Feb. 20 will be dedicated to [Kurt Cobain in the late singer’s hometown](http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/kurt-cobain-day-installed-in-rock-legends-hometown-20140123) of Aberdeen, Wash. Local officials have pegged the late Nirvana frontman’s birthday as Kurt Cobain Day, which will be recognized annually in his memory.

“Aberdeen residents may justifiably take pride in the role our community played in the life of Kurt Cobain and the international recognition our community has gained from its connections with Kurt Cobain and his artistic achievements,” the city’s announcement reads, [reports _Rolling Stone_](http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/kurt-cobain-day-installed-in-rock-legends-hometown-20140123). Aberdeen mayor Bill Simpson has even suggested that the day could extend to a whole week.

But Aberdeen isn’t the only place where the grunge legend—who committed suicide in 1994 at the age of 27— will be celebrated. Another Washington town, Hoquiam, where Cobain briefly lived, has chosen April 10 as their own Kurt Cobain Day. “I think that it’s good Kurt Cobain lived in Hoquiam for a little while,” Hoquiam mayor Jack Durney said when the event was announced. “He and Krist Novoselic are part of our community, and I think it’s good to honor our sons and their great accomplishments.”

Also taking place April 10: [Nirvana will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame](http://entertainment.time.com/2013/12/17/a-guide-to-the-rock-and-roll-hall-of-fames-class-of-2014/), along with Cat Stevens, Kiss, Peter Gabriel, Linda Ronstadt and Hall & Oates.
