The Oscars delivered viewers a performance of Pharrell’s Academy Award-nominated song “Happy,” from _Despicable Me 2._ That meant lots of people dancing (happily) on stage — _and_ the return of Pharrell Williams’ giant hat.

This particular style appeared on Williams’ head at the Grammy Awards back in February, drawing a flood of commentary — half “What?!” and half “Where do I get that?” There were also [Arby’s](http://newsfeed.time.com/2014/02/07/sassiest-brands-on-twitter-ranked/) comparisons. And, of course, a [parody Twitter account](https://twitter.com/Pharrellhat). Williams told [_The Hollywood Reporter_ ](http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/pharrells-ugly-grammys-hat-spawns-674219)that the chapeau was designed by Vivienne Westwood, saying that it “would’ve been really stylin’ if I had one from the ’80s” — and many commentators [pointed out ](http://nymag.com/thecut/2014/01/pharrells-grammys-hat-not-so-ridiculous.html)that the look was a nod to the video for 1982 hip-hop track “Buffalo Girls.”

Now, [the hat is back](https://twitter.com/Pharrellhat/statuses/440304605000642560), and it’s already shoe-in for Best Head-Supported Accessory. (Sorry.)

To be fair, it’s not the _exact_ same hat as the Grammys one. That one was brown; this one is black/charcoal. Besides, that hat doesn’t belong to Williams anymore: he [auctioned off](http://entertainment.time.com/2014/02/21/pharrell-auctions-off-famed-grammy-hat-for-charity/) the Grammys hat for his charity One Hand to Another. [Bidding ended](http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pharrell-Williams-Vivienne-Westwood-Mountain-Hat-worn-at-the-2014-GRAMMYs-/181329060057) at $44,100.
