Surreal scenes from the entertainment industry’s annual spring event
Cannes on Display
Every year in May, this faded French resort town transforms itself into the must-be and must-see center of the glitterati universe. For its 63rd incarnation, the festival will serve up some of Hollywood's top offerings for 2010, like Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, Oliver Stone's sequel to his 1987 classic.ANNE-CHRISTINE POUJOULAT / AFP / Getty Images
What It’s All About
Though dozens of films are shown during the festival, a small number are actually in competition. This year, one of nineteen films will be chosen by a jury to receive the prestigious Palme D'Or. The winning film will be announced on May 23.Christian Hartmann / Reuters

The festival does not confine itself to Hollywood fare. Among the French films being shown is Tournée ("On Tour") the story of a troupe of burlesque performers on tour in France.
