Medicine: Bone in Brain

A bone in the brain is an exceedingly rare freak. Yet it may happen when a cell from a cancerous bone floats through the blood and takes root in the brain. Last week the American Journal of Cancer carried the report of such a bone in the brain of a man who originally had a cancer in his left thigh bone.

One signer of the report was Dr. Cyril Brian Courville, 34, of Los Angeles. The other signer was Dr. Warren Gamaliel Harding II, 29, nephew-namesake of the 29th President of the U. S.

Dr. Harding’s elder brother. Dr. George Tryon Harding III, 30, of Columbus, Ohio was also in last week’s news (see col. 2).

Their father, who died last January, was Dr. George Tryon Harding Jr., brother of the President. Their grandfather was also a Dr. George Tryon Harding.

Mrs. Warren Gamaliel Harding II, 28, is also a doctor. She trained with her husband at the Seventh Day Adventists’ College for Medical Evangelists at Loma Linda, Calif. For the past two years they have worked in the sanatorium which Seventh Day Adventists maintain atWahroonga, Australia.
