Best American Play: Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, whichnosed out William Inge’s Bus Stop by one vote.
Best Musical: Gian-Carlo Menotti’s The Saint of Bleecker Street.
Best Foreign Play: Agatha Christie’s Witness for the Prosecution.
