Life insurance salesmen were never more prosperous. Last week, the Institute of Life Insurance reported that insurance sales in the U.S. hit a record face value of $23.2 billion last year, $45 million more than in 1948. Life insurance policies now number 80 million, add up to a staggering face value of $213.4 billion.
