When two WAACs were arrested last week by Fort Leavenworth, Kans. MPs for being absent without leave and shipped to WAAC authorities at Fort Des Moines, Iowa, the New York Daily News headlined the story “2 WAACs Go AWO —Oh, My!” A newsman asked Colonel Don C. Faith, in charge of WAAC training, what punishment was meted out.wired that Colonel Faith’s attitude was “STRICTLY QUOTE NO COMMENT UNQUOTE.” Most likely punishment is discharge as the Army has no guardhouses for girls.
