Business: British Iron to Great Lakes

At Milwaukee on Lake Michigan, in the world’s greatest iron ore and iron & steel working region, last week, were cargoes of pig iron brought by ships from England. Iron Age magazine believed that more such iron will be shipped regularly to Great Lakes ports on British ships small enough to go through the Welland Canal (in Canada, near Niagara Falls).

At Cleveland last week, the American Transatlantic Steamship Line announced that within a month it would begin a 25-day freight service from Cleveland to Europe.
