In Manhattan at No. 1 Wall St., at the corner of Broadway and opposite Trinity Episcopal Church, is the “costliest real estate lot in the world.” The plot, fronting 29.10 ft. on Broadway and 39.10 ft. on Wall St. and carrying the 18-story Chimney Building, was sold last week for a figure unnamed. Twenty-one years ago the same property sold for $576 a square foot—or $25,000,000 an acre.
