The House banking scandal has claimed another victim. Mickey Edwards, the fourth-ranking House Republican, went down in a five-way primary race in Oklahoma. Edwards, who bounced 386 checks at the House bank, finished third with only 26% of the vote. In a concession speech, the eight-term Congressman blamed the anti-incumbency mood among voters for his loss. Said Edwards: “They saw some new faces out there, and they’re not real happy with what’s happening in Washington.”
