A lip gloss, mirror and flashlight all rolled into one? Get outta here! Beauty-industry veterans Max and Nina Leykind, the couple behind funky cosmetic brand Eyeko, have launched Liparazzi, the latest in the increasingly trendy category of multipurpose makeup. The duo were inspired after observing their celeb pals frantically trying to fix their faces before leaving nightspots so as not to be caught looking less than perfect by paparazzi. For the rest of us who don’t have this flashbulb problem, the gloss gadget is ideal for after-dark touch-ups and finding keys at the bottom of your handbag. “It’s glamour utility,” says Nina. Each glossthere are five different shadescomes with a mirror attached to the side of its tube and is fitted with a tiny bulb that illuminates the whole product at one click. The batteries can’t be changed, but since the light lasts for some 10,000 clicks it’ll probably outlast the gloss anyway. The glosses cost $25 and can be ordered from www.liparazzi.com or bought at select department stores across Europe and the U.S. Since Liparazzi’s debut last month it has proved so popularsome shades sold out within two daysthat the London-based Leykinds plan to bring out illuminated makeup palettes and lipsticks by fall. So there’s no longer any excuse for celebs getting caught out with makeup-smeared faces after a night on the town. Courtney Love, are you paying attention?
