FOOD
Nuts for Nutella
Columbia University may regret a recent decision to offer Nutella in one of its dining halls every day, instead of as a weekend treat. According to the Columbia Spectator, students are consuming (and stealing) up to 100 lb. of the addictive chocolate-hazelnut spread a day–or about $5,000 worth a week.
GAZING DEEP
The quiet intensity seen in this portrait of author William S. Burroughs is a hallmark of work by Peter Hujar, who died of AIDS in 1987 at age 53. His black-and-white photographs of notables from the 1970s and ’80s are at Pace/MacGill Gallery in Manhattan through April 20. See more at lightbox.time.com

REVIEW
MUSIC
The 20/20 Experience
Justin Timberlake has grown up. His new album, the first in nearly seven years, shows he’s maturing his R&B pop sound, adding soul, Afrobeats and brass. Some tracks–at over seven minutes long–drag, but others (like “Tunnel Vision”) show him and producer Timbaland at their best. And he can still hit those high notes like he hasn’t hit puberty.

CRIME
Trefoiled
A South Carolina truck driver took his love of Thin Mints too far when he nabbed $19,000 worth of Girl Scout cookies from a warehouse before police caught him. It just goes to show how far some people will go for a sweet treat … or a chicken wing … or a bunch of bras.

$250,000
Florida thieves stole a truck full of raw beef from a lot this month

NUMBER MUNCHING
Why bother with the fine print of nutrition information when your cake has its ingredient list baked right into it? I-Cakes (above), crafted by Catalan “food designer” Marti Guixé, are among dozens of examples of gastronomic art, from lasagna blueprints to chocolate jewelry, in “The Food Project,” an exhibition on display through June 2 at Mart, the museum of modern and contemporary art in the northern Italian town of Rovereto.
QUICK TALK
Megan Hilty
She just wrapped filming on the second season of Smash, but Megan Hilty isn’t about to kick back and put her feet up during downtime. She also recently released her debut album, It Happens All the Time, a mix of song covers and original material. Here, the Broadway star, 31, talks with TIME.
–NOLAN FEENEY
Had you been dreaming of making an album?
Not at all. I didn’t know that I had anything to say, and I thought that was important. After I started doing pop covers on Smash, we demoed a lot of songs trying to find my sound and the material.
Ne-Yo and Carrie Underwood co-wrote a song. That’s quite the genre span.
I know, isn’t that interesting? They sure make good music together.
You also worked with Glen Ballard, who wrote for Alanis Morissette. Please tell me “You Oughta Know” is your karaoke song.
Can you imagine? Nobody can do that song after her.
So what is your go-to karaoke song?
“Material Girl.” There’s nothing more annoying than a singer going up and actually singing at karaoke. That is not fun. I try to make a little skit out of it.
So you don’t belt it out?
I do that for a living. I don’t want to do that on a Tuesday night!
You got a role in Wicked shortly after college. Did you ever work any weird odd jobs?
Before college, I did dinner theater at night and did every strange odd job during the day. Cleaning things, being a server, a hostess, retail, dog walker. I was terrible at all of them.
Speaking of jobs, Smash isn’t doing so hot in the ratings. Are you worried?
Listen, as an actor, I realized a long time ago that there are a lot of things outside my control, and that is one of them. The only thing I can really focus on is showing up and doing my best every day. The rest is up to other people.
Make sure you get my grumpy side. Or else.
MEMES
Catmercials
Friskies cat food must have decided a temperamental star can be worth the trouble. The brand hired the famous feline known as Grumpy Cat–Internet-famous for her dour-looking face–for its latest ad campaign, shot at this year’s South by Southwest festival in Austin.
3 THINGS YOU DON’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THIS WEEK
1. Your fashion mistakes caught on hidden camera.
After 10 seasons, the U.S. version of What Not to Wear is coming to an end. Thanks for the memories–and for the knowledge of what a cute shoe can do.
2. Dennis Rodman’s self-regard.
Newly returned from a headline-grabbing jaunt to North Korea, the former hoops star announced a desire to meet the next Pope.
3. The Notorious B.I.G.’s legacy.
The rapper will be the subject of a cartoon series in which he appears from beyond the grave to help his children keep Brooklyn real.
