NBC will bring a live version of[ _The Music Man_](http://tvline.com/2014/05/12/the-music-man-live-nbc-2015/) to television, NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt announced during the network’s upfront presentation on Monday. News of the adaptation of the 1957 musical follows previously announced plans for a live rendition of _Peter Pan_, TVLine reports. Last December, NBC began experimenting with live musical events when it aired a performance of _The Sound of Music_ starring Carrie Underwood. The program received many negative reviews, but it was a ratings smash — delivering some of the network’s [best numbers](http://tvline.com/2013/12/06/sound-of-music-live-ratings-nbc/) in years.
