Calling it “the most terrifying moment in my life,” Efron revealed that the incident ended with him being punched in the face. Efron also said that he’s followed up a stint in rehab by joining Alcoholics Anonymous. “I’m much more comfortable in my own skin,” he added. “Things are so much easier now.” ## Transcript Zack Effron opens up with his fight with a homeless man and his decision to get sober. The Neighbors star calls the brawl the most terrifying moment in my life. In a new interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Zack talks about the night he tries to defend his friend after running out of gas on Skid Row. Homeless guy, or vagrant, tapped on the drivers side window. Before I knew it, my friend was out of the car and they started fighting. I saw that the homeless man was carrying some sort of knife, or shank, and I got out of the car to disarm him. The 26- year- old actor was punched in the face, before police were able to defuse the situation. Efron went on to talk about his well publicized stint in rehab, admitting he has since joined Alcoholics Anonymous and regularly sees a therapist. He said, I'm much more comfortable in my own skin. Things are so much easier now. And Hollywood is speaking out. Rob Lowe, who has completed substance abuse treatment himself, tweeted some words of wisdom that appeared to be directed at Effron.
