The 34-year-old Paralympian — who became a double amputee at 19 years old — has had to improvise when it comes to what prosthetics she wears on _Dancing With The Stars_. Purdy usually wears prosthetics designed for swimming. When speaking about her dancing prosthetics, Purdy said “I originally got these just thinking they were a little bit prettier and I could wear a taller heel and maybe \[go\] for a tango.
