Trump and the First Lady sat alongside King Charles III and Queen Camilla on a raised platform as U.S. military band members from the Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps conducted a performance. This was followed by a display from the bagpipe players of the Scots Guards. Trump has a close connection to Scotland, as his mother Mary was a Scottish immigrant. As the music came to a crescendo, British Red Arrow jets flew overhead, with red, white and blue smoke trials of the Union Jack flag following behind. U.S. F-35 fighter jets were scheduled to appear in a joint flypast, but pulled out of the ceremony, reportedly due to the poor weather conditions.
