Timothée the puppet made his first appearance on _The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon_, where he showed off a French accent — courtesy of Fallon’s fairly impressive ventriloquist skills — and a surprisingly sensitive disposition (his favorite turn-of-phrase appears to be “You mock me?!”) during a heart-to-heart of an interview with Fallon. During the segment, Timothée the puppet discussed his greatest roles so far and helped Fallon introduce the featured books for his second-annual Tonight Show Summer Reads book club, with only a few minor disputes about the titles. Later, the puppet deigned to sing a song with fellow guest [Fred Armisen](https://time.com/3712565/portlandia-all-male-feminist-support-group-by-fred-armisen/), although they shared heated words about Armisen’s new show, _Los Espookys._ Watch the full clips of Timothée the puppet, Fallon and Armisen below. ```json [{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"NewsArticle","@id":"https://time.com/5633602/jimmy-fallon-timothee-chalamet-puppet/","mainEntityOfPage":{"@type":"WebPage","@id":"https://time.com/5633602/jimmy-fallon-timothee-chalamet-puppet/"},"headline":"Jimmy Fallon Has a Heart-to-Heart With That Infamous Timothée Chalamet Puppet","datePublished":"2019-07-24T15:28:49.000Z","dateModified":"2026-04-13T07:59:40.220Z","description":"\"You mock me?\"","url":"https://time.com/5633602/jimmy-fallon-timothee-chalamet-puppet/","keywords":["Newsfeed"],"thumbnailUrl":"https://static.time.com/v3/assets/bltea6093859af6183b/bltf36ae031bb22381d/698a005b929fad66f6bf4a62/jimmy-fallon-timothee-chalamet-puppet.jpg?branch=production&width=1200&quality=75&auto=webp&crop=1200:675&height=675","author":[{"@type":"Person","name":"Cady Lang","jobTitle":null,"url":"https://time.com/author/cady-lang/"}],"articleSection":"","image":[{"@type":"ImageObject","url":"https://static.time.com/v3/assets/bltea6093859af6183b/bltf36ae031bb22381d/698a005b929fad66f6bf4a62/jimmy-fallon-timothee-chalamet-puppet.jpg?branch=production&width=1200&quality=75&auto=webp&crop=1200:675&height=675","width":1200,"height":675,"headline":"The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon - Season 6","caption":"The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon - Season 6","creditText":"NBC—NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images","representativeOfPage":true}],"publisher":{"@type":"Organization","name":"Time","url":"https://time.com/","logo":{"@type":"ImageObject","url":"https://time.com/images/logo.png","width":528,"height":156},"foundingDate":"March 3, 1923","sameAs":["https://www.facebook.com/time","https://www.instagram.com/time/?hl=en","https://twitter.com/time","https://www.pinterest.com/timemagazine"]}},{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"BreadcrumbList","itemListElement":[{"@type":"ListItem","position":1,"item":{"@id":"https://time.com/tag/time-section-newsfeed/","name":"Newsfeed"}},{"@type":"ListItem","position":2,"item":{"@id":"https://time.com/5633602/jimmy-fallon-timothee-chalamet-puppet/","name":"Jimmy Fallon Has a Heart-to-Heart With That Infamous Timothée Chalamet Puppet"}}]}] ```
