Krenwinkel, 69, was convicted of seven counts of first-degree murder for participating in the August 1969 [Manson family killings](http://time.com/3746673/the-manson-family-on-trial-madness-visible/ "undefined") of seven people, including pregnant actress Sharon Tate and coffee heiress Abigail Folger. Krenwinkel’s attorney argued that she had been the victim of “intimate partner battery” by Manson at the time, [CNN reported](http://www.cnn.com/2017/06/21/us/patricia-krenwinkel-parole/index.html "undefined"). But [family members of the victims](http://time.com/4422335/charles-manson-follower-parole/ "undefined") spoke out against Krenwinkel receiving parole.
