This isn’t Obama’s first foray into cooking shows. Last year, Obama filmed an [episode](http://time.com/4555770/michelle-obama-ina-garten-white-house/) of _Barefoot Contessa_ with host [Ina Garten](http://motto.time.com/4198968/ina-garten-making-goals/) at the White House. Obama served as an outspoken advocate for healthy eating throughout her tenure in the White House, namely with her establishment of the [Let’s Move! campaign](https://letsmove.obamawhitehouse.archives.gov/). Her “[Turnip for what?](http://time.com/3508424/michelle-obama-turnip-for-what-vine/)” vine became a [viral](http://time.com/4282461/michelle-obama-steph-curry-turnip-for-what-vine/) sensation as she urged kids to embrace and enjoy their fruits and veggies. In 2015, she [vowed](http://time.com/3725306/michelle-obama-unhealthy-food-ads-fnv/) to “fight back” against ads for unhealthy foods, especially in [school lunches](http://time.com/120611/michelle-obama-school-lunches/). While the former First Lady is used to some spectacular cooking, _MasterChef Junior_ contestants bring it up to a whole new caliber.
