Ryan Reynolds has spoken about baby names and parenting in a new interview, calling fatherhood “the best thing that could ever happen to you.”
Reynolds confirmed that the name he had jokingly suggested for their first child, Excalibur Anaconda Reynolds, was soundly rejected by Lively the second time round. The couple, who have been married since 2012, welcomed their second daughter in September and have managed to keep her name under wraps. The new addition to the family joins daughter James, who was born in December 2014.
Reynolds was in Toronto on Wednesday supporting a charity campaign, and spoke to Canada’s eTalk about family life following the birth of the couple’s second child. Speaking of the relationship between James and the new baby, Reynolds said, “It was kind of profound. I just love watching my older daughter take care of the newborn. That’s been kind of neat to see.” Lively has said before that the couple are intent on having a big family, and Reynolds has certainly embraced everything fatherhood encompasses for the second time. “There’s more love, there’s more diapers. There’s more all that stuff, you know,” he said, adding that with the birth of his second daughter, he’s doing his bit to “wipe men off the face of the planet.”
